The guy is a DH, period. Which is really a shame because with the Sox he's not going to get enough at bats to get into a groove.

There is zero doubt in my mind I could play a comparable if not better right field than Wily Mo.

I know you're joking, but RF in Fenway is very hard to play, and Wily Mo is actually a very competent outfielder in general. He just looks like a buffoon on a select few plays and people never forget it.

At any rate, the A's will take him off your hands for nothing, if you like

Wily Mo, Craig Hansen and Michael Bowden for Rich Harden k?

You can have Tavarez too if you want to flip him somewhere.

I am quite sure the A's would do this in a heartbeat.

I know nothing about how hard RF is in Fenway. I'm just speaking fielding in general. I know you have to add in speed/range and arm strength which would for sure put Wily Mo waaaaaaay ahead of me because I'm slow and throw like a girl, but damn he misplays a lot of fly balls.

this has been the line for 2 years, and i really don't get it. pena misplays an insane amount of flyballs. does his range make up for it? tough to say, he's never been a full time player so every sample is relatively small, but i can't imagine him being even average.
