GG terp

Now the part that kills me:

http://www.officialpokerrankings.com...-C4DA81F3FF8C/

I mean, all day yesterday he did jackshit in every tourney, and then of course, he somehow got it all together for the big one.

Just kinda pisses you off (not so much me, cause I'm not a big game baller like most of you) to see someone come in that probably doesn't know what he's doing and take home a huge prize like that. Just unreal.

Yea, it was a little shocking how many of the top 10 or so finishers had the same overall profit as their prize in this tourney...not that Terp is included or anything....

LOL, that's the first time I've even played the Sunday Million in 120 days it says. I honestly don't play a lot of multis, but this destroys my previous best scores - I won a WSOP seat in '04, I took third in the $162 towards the middle of last year for a little over $8K, I took second in a $100R out at the Mirage last time I was in Vegas for almost $9K, and I might have two or three other cashes over $5K.

I had a hell of a week though. I won my first MTT in months on Wednesday - a $20 with 694 entrants (my database says 2nd, but we chopped when I had 85% of the chips, and he wanted the TLB points, so I obliged), I took 13th in the $50K VIP on Saturday, and now this obviously takes the cake.

I'm not going to pretend I'm some kind of tournament superstar or anything, but I'm pretty confident in my shortstack play (which is a big key late in the Million), since I have an extensive SNG background. It's by far my strongest game. LHE is my fault. I can definitely beat the games up to $15/$30, $30/$60 is borderline, and higher than that I just donate. Though I still play there occasionally because I like the challenge and I feel like I learn up there. But I've always been careless with my bankroll. Like a mini-HIV I guess. Already three times in '07 (before yesterday), I turned $100 into five figures and ran it all the way back down to nothing.

It's funny now, because I have no desire to play big right away. The money is kinda surreal. It comes at a perfect time for me too. I play recreationally (I'm a civil engineer by day), so I could always afford to be a little more careless than if I depended on the money. I'm taking this opportunity to really square away my finances. And the timing is perfect. I'm getting married in June, and we're paying for our own wedding, which we still owe like $15K on. We have like $20K in other misc. debt (school, cars, credit cards, etc.) which will all disappear. Taxes will eat up a big chunk, but I should still have enough left over to make a nice down payment on my first house towards the end of the year too. I actually have a call into Steve Dannenmann to help me with the tax side of things. He still works as a CPA in my area, and we have some common friends, so I figure he'd be the ideal person to help me with Uncle Sam.

I'm not going to name names in fear that I'd leave somebody out, but thanks to the whole forum for all the awesome advice you guys give. Couldn't have done it without you.

This is about 3 years and 25 pounds ago, but here's a happy UMTerp:

Congrats on the great result!

Re: Everybody who raged against dealing. If the difference between 1st and 2nd is more than say 20% of your current bankroll not dealing is probably a relatively big mistake, strongly exaggerated by a just marginally low stack/blinds ratio.
