Too many predators and a depleting supply of prey does not bode well for an ecosystem. :]

Seriously, it's the kind of situation where not even 100% rakeback can help.

losing players are going to lose regardless.

tuff-fish is especially frustrated by the evil winning players who are always stalking him.

if there weren't HUD's the better players would still have the advantage over the worse players.

If there weren't buddy-lists or multi-tabling, the better players would still be seeking out the losing players.

tuff-fish has been on this kick for quite awhile and every time we have a suggestion thread for any specific site he goes into his rant about how multi-tabling and HUD's shouldn't be allowed anywhere.

Obviously, some people agree and others don't agree.
Thinking that Stars would completely revamp their system to disallow all HUD's and/or PT and only permit 2-tables max is somewhat unrealistic.

The fact is, the 10-tablers really aren't that freaking difficult to beat much of the time.
HUD's don't provide THAT much of an advantage. They help of course. But they don't win for you.
And bad players are always looking for excuses to justify their losses.

Yeah seriously. I'm sick of this wackjob losing player spouting his crap. Just because he made a bunch of midly entertaining videos everyone somehow listens to him as if his opinions are worth it.

TUFF_FISH HU FOR BANKROLLS? I WON'T USE A HUD

Introducing something that caters towards the more predatory players seems like bad business to me.

Wow I'm a predator for taking the game seriously and not sucking. WTF? Table and seat selection is part of the game. No different then what to raise UTG. If you want to ignore that, that's fine. It's your money, but don't try to force your bad play on the rest of us.

Lee,

Please don't listen to these people

Thanks

Yes, you're a predator. I'm a predator. I make my money (relatively a lot) from the fish. I'd love an improved buddy list system, but I still don't think it's right. Some of the people on this board need to have a more broad view of poker, business, life, etc IMO.

I notice you have a lot of posts. NL HU for bankrolls?

Yes, HUDs don't turn you into a poker god (I'd know because I don't feel like one when I use it), and I don't object to that at all. Objecting to multitabling is also absurd-- one should be able to play as much as they want. It can be boring for some if the tables are limited. But, is it good for the site to provide every possible edge to the better players? How far does it go? We all have diffrent opinions. Some don't like HUDs or even pokertracker. Some people like me don't like datamining. And bad players are a big part of the site too, it'd be nice if some of their needs were addressed as well. I don't know-- I just don't like the idea of being able to mass track plenty of bad players at once. Perhaps it would just be best to "hide from search" by default.

I do agree that the search function on PS is terrible and needs to be improved. But I'm still more in favor for it to be an actual buddy list. /*cough* I personally wouldn't care that much; if people were stalking me, I'd just hope they'd time out in a large pot. ;p

Didn't tuff_fish multitable too??

How often does the information provided by your HUD actually change your decision about a play? For me it seems 5-10 percent of the time would be the high range and it's mostly on the small pots anyway. If I'm going to trust a big pot to a read it's got to be a lot more situationally specific than a number.

Yep, people can have identical stats but play very differently.

Another suggestion:

How about having an option to display notes when you mouseover someone? I'm not really that interested in their location or connection status.

How about a predator list? The fish could list all the predators and when someone from that list sits at his table a popup window would warn him and ask him if he wants to leave. Better yet, the system could automatically find a "predator-free" table for him and ask him if he wants to be moved over there.

Boy, I should copyright these ideas
