Bodhisattva,

You mean we can have a contest to see who's cooler and more manly because you're offended I said your posts could use a bit more thought before you hit the submit button?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, you made a point of saying my JOKE was a feeble pickup line. So lets see how much game you have. You must be able to come up with something better than my attempt, which you were to dull to ealize was a joke. Don't flap your mouth if you can't back it up.

But seriously... I was supposed to have my first myspace meet-up someone today, but she cancelled. It wasn't exactly last minute, and she sounded sincere, but I'm not sure what to think. My experiences so far have not been good.

Just got back from my date with:

I half expected her to not show up, because I'm used to always calling before a date to confirm, and the last time I spoke to her was like Tuesday or something. But I've learned that this is a bad thing to do, so I just showed up at the Starbucks at 6:55 P.M. (our date was a 7) Didn't see any fatties inside so headed to the bathroom, then left and got back in my car. I'm pretty uncomfortable in most social situations, and didn't quite have the balls to just sit down in Starbucks w/o ordering anything and wait for her to show up.

I didn't see anyone enter or leave the Starbucks so I called her at 7:00, she didn't answer. I prepared to go back in one more time at 7:05, then leave, but she called right as I was getting out of my car. So I headed inside to meet her.

We did a hug upon meeting, then went up to order something @ the counter. I had already planned out this part of the convo in my mind before getting there, and trying to take ScottyP's advice, I said:

Me: So I know absolutely nothing about coffee, this is like my 2nd time ever in a Starbucks. I have no clue what to order, all these fancy names are confusing.

instead of

Me: So what do you think I should get?

But in the end, I regressed back to just generally asking her questions to keep the convo going, and sharing WAY too much about myself (play poker for a living, used to play Magic: the Gathering, etc.) when the convo started to die. Oh well, I'm uncomfortable even around fatties.

We talked till about 7:30, then I asked her if she wanted to head to the BookStar next door to look around. She said, "would love to", so we headed over there. We joked and laughed about a lot of the book titles, and did usual "getting to know you" convo. She made me laugh a lot more than I made her laugh, in fact a lot of [censored] that she said I figured ought to be coming out of my mouth and not hers. I used to think that I was a funny guy, but I think that spending so much time on the internet has made me much less sharp in person, and really jaded my humor to where the only thing I think is funny is ytmnd.com

So anyways, we walked around for about an hour and a half, and I ran a bit of kino every now and then. BTW she isn't nearly as fat in person as she is in the pics, I mean she's a fattie don't get me wrong, but we're talkin prolly about 5'6" 220, not 5'6" 270 (which is what pics look like). I should have probably been much more assertive, but generally just followed behind her and looked at books she picked up. It's been like 2 1/2 weeks since I've gotten laid, so I was eyein her boobs a lot from behind.

In general I'm working on being more of a challenge, so my plan was to show interest with some kino, but wait for heavy return signals before going any further. She gave none.

After BookStar we walked back over to the Starbucks parking lot and I walked her to her car. We had some idle chat for a second at her car, then hugged and I said, "had a nice time tonight, so i'll chat w/ u online sometime?" She said, "call me!"

Pretty boring stuff. When I got home this was waiting for me:

Body: yeah, Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorites. so many beautiful people. if i were gay, i'd definitely have a crush on Jared Leto. he's in a band called 30 Seconds to Mars, they are quite good as well. Memento is another one of my favorites, you would like it.

and yeah, i voted for Kerry, mainly out of hatred for Bush. ;D tho i actually came to like him over the course of his campaign. and i really like Gore. he made a documentary here recently about global warming called An Inconvenient Truth, made me like him even more. as a hippy chick tree hugger, i'm sure you would like that movie as well.

yes, i am into politics and the news and such. i am a liberal lol, good guess. i am just from southaven, which is close to memphis, and i lived in memphis for a while. yeah, i would have voted for kerry... not because i liked him so much, but because i dislike bush. so you have seen requiem for a dream? did you like it? are you liberal or conservative?

so Kerry, i see u are into politics. even though you are from MS, i'm assuming you'd have voted for Kerry had you been old enough? besides the fact that you guys share a name, you seem like a liberal from the TV/Movies you like. i don't think a conservative could sit through Requieum for a Dream, and i doubt most of their TV's ever make it from Fox News to Comedy Central.

Labor Day isn't a very fun holiday. theres not really much to celebrate. i mean at least even dud holidays like MLK have some meaning. wtf are we supposed to do on Labor Day? i guess i'll make mine a "family" holiday and hang out w/ my parents or something.

-Brian

Still working on that neg-hitting, was pretty sure it was over after she said "i don't talk to as$holes", but I just kept truckin' and it worked like a charm. However, she has read and not responded to my last msg. I didn't include any questions or anything to try to get her to respond to see if she'd keep the convo up. Guess not.

Hobbits don't have magical powers. The only reason Frodo disappears is because he wears the One Ring to Rule them All, and for some reason it makes the hobbit kind disappear. As far as I know it only has that effect on hobbits.

I wound up calling her the next night I think, and we had like a bit of an awkward 2 minute convo then I said I had to go and would chat w/ her later. Then I called her up a few hours later and we had about a 10 minute chat about her work. She said she was about to get off work, and I offered to meet her for coffee somewhere (this is about 10 PM), she said she couldn't 'cause she had to go home and work on a cake for a client. I then offered to meet her sometime during the weekend, but she said she was going out of town for Labor Day. I was pretty much gonna leave it at that and not bother anymore, but decided to MySpace her and we chatted for a bit via MySpace e-mail:

I appreciate the comment!
Not to harp on the age thing, but you are a little young for me...besides the fact that we have talked for 30 minutes and who knows if one of us might be an axe murderer??

ahah, well you only look like you're about 23. i figure people are always telling you how young you look so i can't let your ego get up too high.

sounds like we have the same taste in movies. let's meet up and chat about them sometime. pretty busy Labor Day weekend for me but i'll be free next week. when is good for you?

*ouch* on the age inference! LOL I just wanted to be out so bad I could only afford a sudio apt, a phone, and utilities.
I used to watch Fight Club a lot, and I had Memento too but the ex-hubby took them both in the divorce. Hey, I got the kid and the dog so I am not complaining.
My son, age almost 5, is the one on my profile default laying on the beach, and there is another shot of him on the beach in my Pics but I don't feel comfortable plastering his picture on the internet to people I don't know (no offense, darling.)
My friends are trying to get me into Netflix...

yeah, i do the same thing w/ Fight Club, Memento, a few others. after i put my Daisy to bed, i'll crack open a Lemonade and relax to Lord of the Rings. how old is your son? do you have any pics of him?

wow, no cable, i hope you had an internet connection at least, or did the internet exist in those days? ;D i was fortunate enough to be able to afford cable when i moved out of my parents' last year, tho its main use is for the cable modem. i'm a DVD junkie myself as well, i have 3 NetFlix movies waiting on me downstairs - Hustle&Flow, The Office Series 1 (British version), and Grey's Anatomy Season 1 (don't tell anyone!)

Glad I could offer new knowledge ;-P
I have a bad habit of watching movies over and over, like Fargo, B/Club, JAWS, LA Confidential, I could go on and on. I will put them on and do chores and such or sit & watch one after my son goes to bed and have a beer...stems from not having cable when I first moved out of my house at 18.
And you should NEVER be embarassed by your music...and never care what anyone has to say about it!!

wow, KWIM, learn something new every day. thx god for Google.

so why do you keep watching The Breakfast Club over and over? i'd dog you for it, but i'm embarassed to say that i actually have the song "Don't You" by Simple Minds on my Napster playlist.

I really do like Fargo, only b/c most people I meet don't see why it is so great (and I love William H. Macy anyways) but I do enjoy The Big Lebowski although I haven't seen it that many times...I should rent it again soon!!
Ladykillers to me seemed like they rushed it; and Tom Hanks is just not a Coen actor, KWIM?

What's your favorite movie by them? I'm sure most would say Fargo but it's Big Lebowski for me. I hated Ladykillers though >:[

I wanted to turn the axe murderer comment around on her, and would have if she had said "who knows if you're an axe murderer", but she said "if one of us", so didn't really seem appropriate. I thought things were going well but no AIM and no date, guess I should have gone for the inbetween phone #, but too late now I think. Any chance of recovery here?
Finally, I know it's slightly beyond the scope of this thread, but my girlfriend of 4 years came over the other night and officially said that she isn't in love with me anymore. We mutually decided to seperate about a month and a half ago for a multitude of reasons (I suggested it though), but I definitely love her still and still consider(ed) her my girlfriend. It's a bit of a long drawn out thing, but I'll just say that I definitely wasn't expecting to hear that from her and that it has left me in a bit of shock. I've encouraged her to see other guys as part of our seperation, but I didn't think that she would fall out of love with me in only a month. Then again, that is one of the reasons we seperated to begin with, to see whether or not we're "in love", and if she could fall out of love with me that fast, then it was not meant to be. Still though, it hurts being told that, and it has really affected my confidence level in my past few real life pick-up attempts. Hopefully I'll get laid here soon and things will start to turn around. I didn't mean to get so deep 'cause this thread has been just for fun for me, but since I've already laid everything else out there, I figured that I would include that, too.

3 and 4 those two older ladies are tapping your sexy self for sure. No doubt in my mind. That latter "what would you know about 30yo sexual peak" drips with needing a 'nothing, it's what i want to find out about that matters' response.

brian,

I don't know how you have the time to manage all of these girls and then have the time to post about it - Keep up the good work!

You are definitely a myspace rainmaker - albeit puddle sized drops - it is rain nonetheless.

Here are my first 2 convos with that opener.

Same here my new MySpace friend. I wrote a blog about people from high school who hated me, but now that they are on myspace, they want to be my friend. Some people like that I just refuse to add.

Myspace is the universal peacemaker. People I've had serious conflict with in the past cant wait to be my friend on myspace. Seriously I have some people I straight-up hate as friends on myspace.

Oh well, my rant for the day, back to work.
