[ QUOTE ] Cit, I really agree with like all of your posts. Which means either we both suck at life, or we both don't suck at life. I have said this so many times, but playing bad and running bad are highly correlated. People aren't robots they tilt. If you can't control your tilt you need to people to stop playing. Whenever I really tilt I have like one hand where I just spew or blow up or whatever and I say to myself that's it for the day. When people are playing for their livelihoods and they "need" to win. Like win or no food, or no electricity you cannot be playing your A game. [/ QUOTE ] And i agree with everything pudge says. ...looks like we're starting a nice little club. WHO AGREES WITH ME?! [/ QUOTE ] i am agreeing with citanul, pudge and pasterbator after this enlightening advice i recieved from jason regarding my reply to this thread: (17:37:09) Pasterbator: DO IT |

In two years of sngs, Ive never run as bad as the past month.
I'm now on a 900 SNG break-even stretch after being a 15% ROI player for the previous 1000 SNG's. Had my fifth straight losing day yesterday, dropping 25 buyins, including ending the day with 2 cashes in last 26. I hate life. I hate poker. I hate Frist. I feel like I've wasted my damn time on SNG's. End of rant. |

pudge,
i've been thinking about writing a "new" or "updated" post on bad runs, bad play, tilt, etc lately. i think that in my career i've probably tilted myself out of like 2 sngs. it's not that i don't know people who do it, or don't understand how it happens, or whatever, it's that in a variety of ways it has never really occurred to me to tilt at a sng. however i haven't been able to move this over to cash. for the time being i'm working on being happy when i can make myself just quit asap when i realize i'm about to quit. the thing is for me that in stts there's no like "omg i am so tilted so i'm going to try to out play this guy/make a super thin call/etc" like there is in cash. almost 100% of all decisions are mechanical. meanwhile in cash games you're playing so many more hands, and so many more deep stacked hands, that there's always the urge to "play this next hand even better," and i wind up putting myself in "thin" (read "bad") spots, and building big pots while convincing myself that my new lagging it up (one hand) is making my opponents play with me light. meanwhile they have top two or whatever and just call call call all-in in position against me and i feel like a douche. when i manage to stop throwing away 2-3 buyins per session doing this (when i post a graph sometime, we will all have a nice cry-fest) i will be much, much better off as a cash game player. anyway, more later. c |
