Any speculation on how likely stars, party, etc. are to just block all american accounts if this goes down?

P.S. keep calling!

Unfortunately if the bill passes and the DoJ or American Banking Association conclude Neteller is a conduiet for gambling transactions, then the banks start bouncing all Neteller transaction and neteller ceases to exist for US customers.

I also believe that Neteller follows US law. Currently if you reside from the state of Maryland, Neteller blocks transactions from Maryland.

My guess is that they will come up with alternative funding methods, but I have no idea how or what. I don't understand how Neteller can possibly be effected by this peice of legislation when it isn't even a company based in the US. Can't they continue to do business with whoever they want to? Am I missing something here? Can someone explain that?

My understanding is that Neteller has a much bigger market for non-gaming stuff in Europe, a market which PayPal is very interested in expanding into.

[/ QUOTE ]

oh, i didn't know that. i've never found anything i could spend my neteller loot on that wasn't poker related.

[/ QUOTE ]

At this moment Neteller only accepts online casino's and pokerrooms as merchants. The only way to accept payments if you are in another online business is to do it via Peer to Peer transfers on a personal account.

I was under the impression that neteller handled a relatively high volume of online stock trading funds, especially among foreign markets

Default Txt msg from a high level democratic aid

I know that I am just telling you what you already know but I have a friend who is a high level aid who is briefing the senator that he works for on defense issues... the senator that he works for is a BIG deal.

He sent me the following text message today in response to one that I sent him asking about new events:

"if it gets in the DoD bill you are totally screwed. They cant amend it without fillibustering it first and nobodys going to block funding for body armour in order to protect gamblers when we are only six weeks away from the election"

he also said that there is no way that the senator that he works for would be willing to block this legislation EVEN THOUGH the senator is in favor of online gambling.

things are looking pretty bleak...

I know that it isn't news Nate. That is why I prefaced my statements saying "I know I am just telling you something that you already know"

When someone makes a strategy thread and a few people suggest a river call and you have a slight variation on the reasoning why they should call; do you still sometimes reply with your advice and reasoning? That is all that I was trying to do here.

This situation is getting dire... It does not hurt to have one more person giving their reasoning why we all need to CALL our senators

As always I enjoy your contributions to the forum Nate... I do not intend to get into a pissing contest with one of the posters who always offers quality strategy oppinions and has personally made me a good deal of money. Thanks for your contributions.

CF,

Didn't mean to pick a fight. Understandably, we're all a little bit testy here.
