I just realized something while watching the STL/HOU game yesterday.

It doesn't matter who wins the Central, or the wild card, because the only team with a shot at winning the W.S. from the NL is the Mets. It's like a race to see who can get their ass beat harder.

I'll probably stop watching the Astros because the outcome is inevitable.

I was at thursday's game. After the stros took the lead in the 4th, the only time the Cardinals ever came close to threatening was in the 8th. And yall's favorite whipping boy Brad Lidge came in and shut them down. Funny how the Brad Lidge-rut roh thread was so silent then.

Who coaches these guys on baserunning? Is it just me, or have they made some really questionable decisions this series? Is that a function of being more aggressive overall, or are they aggressive to the point of foolishness?
