Watching these shows kind of makes me reflect on my life. I was shy and awkward around women, extremely so in high school. I improved in college a little bit to get laid here and there, and I'm married now, so picking up women is irrelevant. But it kind of pains me to know that there were all these methodical ways of actually studying and working on this aspect of your life that I was never exposed to.

It almost makes me mad at my dad. He was sky and geeky too, and the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. But that line of thought leads somewhere.... I'm thinking when my sons get to be a certain age (what age?!), I'm going to send them to some of these seminars or buy the appropriate reading materials, so they don't have to have the same crappy experience I had. Am I deranged?

Don't do that. Just raise him to be confident and willing to speak his opinion and be talkative. If you're going to force something on him, make it a Martial Art or something else that builds self-esteem.

I have good info from a friend who works at VH1...the show is def staged, the "club" scenes are not authentic and are filled with movie extras.
[/ QUOTE ]

If this is true, WTF....spoiler alert????

[/ QUOTE ]

my friend works directly on this show (for 3ball productions) and sees the raw footage and stuff, he has said it is pretty legit, obviously it is still a reality tv show.

And how do I do that? I'm not exactly the most qualified!

Also, I think Mystery could be doing a better job of teaching.

[/ QUOTE ]

To those who feel that way, remember that not everything can be shown in an hour long TV show. I just watched an INSANE clip on VH1.com (wish I could link) where they show more of the Mystery-Prabhdeep 1on1 session. He has a brilliant talk with Prabhdeep that is way more beneficial than the gambit he learned. I still hate Prabhdeep LDO but I think if anyone in the world could get through to him, it's Mystery. I highly recommend watching it, the clip is called "Private Time with Mystery".

[/ QUOTE ]

It's true mystery spends hours everyday teaching them material and such, its condensed down to a few minutes for each show. That's why you always hear the guys freaking out that it's so much and they need more time to process it all.

Haven't read the whole thread. Quick question.

Why are guys going up to male/female couples and engaging them?

What is there to gain?

A male/female set != couple. They are often quite easy to open and demonstrate value b/c you can blow out the guy and/or get him on your good side so there is no cockblock. It's easier for a girl to abandon some random guy friend than to abandon her BBF g/f when on "girl's night out."

But if the mission is to kiss a girl the fastest way you're going to do that is finding a girl who is disengaged in her party already.

It supposedly increases your social value if you make friends with the guy and talk him up. Also you fly under the radar that way which is important in Mystery's method.

Man, this show is ok, but it feels like they are stretching 30 minutes worth of material into an hour.

I just always find myself rooting for the poor bastards to do better. I associate them with some of the nice guys I knew who married bitchy women just because it was all they could get.

I find the approach contrived, but I'm glad there's PUA info. out there to help some of the socially inept but otherwise good guys get hooked up.

Did anyone else think that the "peach kissing" scenes made those guys look like a 13 year old girl not knowing how to give a BJ?
