its [censored] [censored] that they take a tip out in advance and criticize people who don't tip. I hate these people so much, if you want a tip don't take it out of the prize pool in advance, its so completely ridiculous. Any writer who writes garbage like this is a moron. If the dealers want a bigger tip, take freaking 4-5% instead of 3% off the top instead and then stop whining.

Note that I would tip something anyway for good karma purposes, but wouldn't blame anyone for a SECOND that tips absolutely zero.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I completely agree. I basically got guilted into giving 5% by the entire Orleans tournament staff last summer when I took 2nd in their weekly friday afternoon limit Omaha 8 tourney. I only took home like $700 or $800 but I got the impression if I didn't leave a tip that I wouldn't exactly be welcomed back with open arms.

Screw that dude. I'm not going to tip anything. They can try to guilt me all they want. Fact is, I'm the customer, I spent my own gas money to drive X hours to get there, and I paid their damn rake. If I don't want to tip, you don't go trying to guilt me into doing it. See if I come back to that casino if they pull that [censored].

Of course, if you don't give an additional tip, you run the danger of getting slammed.

[/ QUOTE ]

This isn't that he didn't leave a tip it's that he left a $500 tip off of $1.5mil score. It even said if he didn't want to tip that was fine since a certain % had already been taken off but to leave $500 makes it seem like he was upset with something.

It would be like leaving a $1 tip at a resturant after an expensive meal. You want them to know you didn't forget and that you tipped bad on purpose.

Dont you understand that he already tipped by virtue of simply paying his entry fee? Do you feel obliged to tip when your room service brings you a meal and the 20% tip has already been taken out? I usually tip a buck or two but it's absurd to expect someone to tip more when you've already tipped for them.

Honestly I think that any tournament director, casino or writer who acts like you should be under some moral pressure to tip in these cases should be boycotted/treated with extreme prejudice. They are basically intimidating you into giving them money after they've already taken said money from you.

I'm fine with him not tipping at all. Espcially when a tip was already taken out in both a % and in an entry fee.

I just think it's a little insulting to $500 off of that score. Tip nothing or make an appropriate tip.

I think it's more than a little insulting for them to nudge him to tip them. I just can't stand that crap. You know what, if I feel like tipping, I'll tip. I don't need people suggesting to me what they think is the appropriate thing to do.

this reminds me of how some people on 2+2 complained what a cheapskate hachem was for tipping the dealer who dealt the winning hand $100 at the WSOP. rumor had it that the dealer was mad about that.

as far as im concerned tipping at the WSOP has ended. correct im wrong but it's so built into the buy in now since it's so high.
