[ QUOTE ]
if they're playing LHE, then i'm sure Harman is a better challenge than Ivey. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, which is why Ivey isup 16 million against Beal and Harman was down a few million to Beal the last time they played. Now I know why Ivey plays the big game... he still kills the 4k/8k game... this guy is phenomenal. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking they would have been better off pooling their money and letting only Ivey (and perhaps Lederer) play, and splitting the winnings (in a sense, they'd be staking Ivey). Of course, their egos probably would not let them just believe that Ivey is better than most of the other members of the corporation. [/ QUOTE ] I don't really know that much about their egos (nor do you), but it probably has more to do with the fact that Beal only agreed to play if he could pick his opponents. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] so who is andy beal? and who all is in the coporation? [/ QUOTE ] Andy Beal is what poker players call an "angel": a wealthy, wealthy man who likes to play against the pros. He specializes in HU limit play. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Beal The Corporation™ wrote all the big hits for the Jackson 5 in the 60s, so they can afford to spend money on poker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Corporation%E2%84%A2 [/ QUOTE ] I like the last line of that first article under poker playing. I guess someone was in a hurry. |

I wonder if Ivey just sat down and beat him or if The Corperation analyzed the last match and booked him up.
