[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] What about the arguement for comp points. Wouldnt playing at one specific room consolidate all your time and reward you with better comps rather then splitting your time between two places? [/ QUOTE ] I understood that the Borg is stingier with comps than, say, Harrah's or the Hilton. No? [/ QUOTE ] Don't know about Harrah's, but Hilton comps $2/hour for 1/2 NL, while Borgata is only $1/hour. Also, Hilton poker rate is $30/night on weekdays. I believe Borgata is $100/night, but I don't play enough to get it. Finally, I used to get a bunch of free room offers from the Hilton in the mail (and I only play poker), but I haven't gotten one in a while. [/ QUOTE ] How easy is it to get 30 dollar poker rate at Hilton? I've never played there before but this would make me seriously consider it. |

How easy is it to get 30 dollar poker rate at Hilton? I've never played there before but this would make me seriously consider it. [/ QUOTE ] It is easy to get in the sense that I don't think there is a previous play requirement, you can play any limit, and they don't seem to vigorously enforce a minimum number of hours. But it is hard to get in that it is not always available (to anyone), and you can't know when it is available unless you talk to the one person there who can set it up. You need to call the Hilton poker room and ask for TK. Talking to anyone else will just send you in circles. |

In your best guess, is it possible to get on short notice or is this something I need to plan out ahead of time? I'm going tomorrow, and I don't have any hotel plans. I usually stay in dirtbag, cheapo motels, since I'm there to play not to luxuriate. Is it worth a phone call today? |

In the winter, this is easy. In the summer, it's probably less than 50%. Whether it's worth a phone call depends on how much your ego will be bruised by the likely, but not certain, rejection. |

[/ QUOTE ] The S.O.P. for getting a comped/discount room on short notice in AC is to call the casino late afternoon/early evening on the day before your arrival date. That is when the cancellation window is for those who have reserved rooms by credit card. That is, if there are going to be vacancies, it will be at that time that they will open up. Yes, it would be worth it to call today. |

Um, "100 friggin points" is 100 hours at lower limits or 50 hours at mid limits. That's a fair amount.
