Discovery Channel : MAN VS WILD or SURVIVORMAN?

I just asked a friend this question yesterday...he said Man vs Wild...

the guy in Man vs Wild does much crazier stuff, but he also has a camera crew with him...and I'm quite sure they do plenty of safety stuff when he is climbing up watterfalls and [censored] like that...it's still balla, but Survivorman goes out there with no one..and if that wasn't bad enough, he has to carry around all his [censored] along with the camera equipment

Survivorman is only entertaining because Les basically fails to do anything productive and ends the show no better off than where he started and everyone laughs at his incompetence.


Man vs. Wild may not be as "authentic", but at least Bear COULD actually survive for >3 days if he actually had to.

Why would you expect someone alone in the wilderness for 7 days to come out better off than when he started?

Also, Les' show is 7 days long so he already does survive for longer than 3 days.

He has a radio which is usually not working. There is no one within ~ 1 mile from where he is. Anyone who compares the authenticity of Survivorman to Man vs. Wild is [censored] dumb.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is that Man vs. Wild offers TERRIBLE and in many times dangerous survival techniques. These two shows should not even be compared; they are nothing alike.

as for which is the better show i prefer man vs wild. he doesn't simply stay in one place, he actively attempts to escape the dangerous situation and get back to civilization. he also is more badass and it's not close, he was in SAS for christ sake.

Why are people so dumb. Man vs Wild is entertaining but little more than that. The guy tried to get a wild horse to ride out in one of the shows. I mean wtf, anyone who thought this would be a good idea in a survival situation is an idiot. Hes putting on a show.

i saw man vs wild dude show how to survive if you fall into a frozen lake by breaking the ice cover and sitting in a frozen pond for like 30 seconds. then he takes off his clothes and rubs snow all over himself for warmth? wtf...kiss my ass regardless of if he has crew there he is way more bad ass, i assure you those camera men arent carrying blankets and ribeyes for him.
