[ QUOTE ]
Just to give some examples PG Nash/Parker = advantage Suns SG Bell/Ginboli = advantage Spurs SF Marion/Bowen = advantage Suns C Amare/Elson = advantage Suns 6th man Barbosa/Barry = advantage Suns Result: Spurs win series 4-2 PG Billups/Parker = advantage Pistons SG Hamilton/Ginobli = push SF Prince/Bowen = advantage Pistons C Mohammed/ Wallace = advantage Pistons 6th man Horry/McDyess = push Result: Spurs win series 4-3 [/ QUOTE ] You can't be serious with this Elson [censored], the guy gets 12 minutes per game. He is a scrub bench player. If you wanna talk about what the Spurs actually have you talk about Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Bowen, Finley, Horry, Barry, and Oberto. Seriously your posts in this thread make it seem like you don't actually watch basketball. |

I went by the depth chart off of yahoo.com. I watch nearly every game that comes on TV if I'm home.

[ QUOTE ]
Russell is extremely overrated, not even close to Wilt. Boston would guard Wilt with their whole team, Russell's offense and defense wasn't as good as Wilt's. And David Robinson lol. His impact wasn't close to Duncan's. [/ QUOTE ] Wilt was a decent defender, but it is hard for someone who didn't see him play to understand how good Russell was. Not only was he the best shotblocker of his (and probably any) generation, but he never blocked a shot OOB. Never in his entire career. That is huge, since he usually tipped it to a teammate or himself. That means almost every blocked shot was a turnover for the other team. It is hard to overestimate the impact this has on an offense. Also if you doubt Robinson had a greater impact than Duncan check out the difference in SA record the year before he came and his first year. In the history of the NBA only two players (Larry Bird, Tim Duncan) have changed his team's record as much (+35 games) |

you also have to consider how lucky San Antonio has been to win 3 championships. They are the Patriots of the NBA. They've had a lot of decimating calls go their way. They could easily be a zero championship team. But still Duncan is easily in the top ten. [/ QUOTE ] They could easily be a 4 championship team if Fisher never hits that shot with .4 left. It's not the championships that matter, it's the winning. Of course credit goes to the franchise, Pop, and Duncan's teammates, too, but his surrounding talent hasn't been insane or anything. They haven't won less than 57 games since '00-'01 season. |

Duncan >>> KG.
Where's Zach Randolph on this list? Top 20 all-time big men with a bullet? The difference between the truly all-time great big men and wannabes like KG, Dirk, Gasol, etc is that they play like freaking big men. Post up, score, next possession. They clog the lane and create massive problems for opposing offenses. Big men who think they are small forwards/shooting guards simply do not have the same impact. |
