Your dad's a jerk, you're only 17, so loosen up, my god, man, first tourney, and you bubble? So effin what, you'll have many, many more, worse finishes. It's only $40, and that's what? Two weeks allowance?

No allowance. Was poker/job money, since they are in the bank together. Not much $$ in bank now though because I had to pay a few thousand for a car, mother's day gift etc. etc.

He is not normally a jerk at all. It was run by a church organization and my Dad knew all the guys. All them drinking didn't help either. I was the only kid there.

id be disgraced if my son folded JJ shorthanded when he was getting odds to call even if he knew his opponent had AA

"YOU LOST EQUITY SON, EQUITY!!!"

When did I mention short handed? My Dad doesn't play poker, that's part of the reason why he doesn't understand.

[/ QUOTE ]

when you said that 3 had been knocked out since the ft started and you were now 6 handed? do you even know what you posted?

also stop whining because you lost 40 bucks at a tournament and 75 on some bet about akili smith. there are a ton of people on here who lost a [censored] load more today, myself included. you'll get over it, wake up tomorrow and realize it doesn't really matter. stop whining plzkthx

[/ QUOTE ]

JJ to AA was earlier on. I shouldn't have explained this situation, only some of you would understand. Now this is borderline Dr. Phil stuff.

[/ QUOTE ]
The hell do you mean by that? Folding JJ just because you know your opponent has AA is terrible WHEN you're pot committed, which you said you were ("I raised 3xBB for most of my stack").

P.S. When your stack gets <10xBBs, you should usually just shove.

I was not referring to my play, but just about everything else that happened. I understand what you are saying about my bets. It was shorthanded after all as well, which I disputed above.

I get JJ, raise 3xBB (most of my stack) behind me raises all in, I fold, they show AA. So I am down to nothing and am all in with 4 8 os against QQ. Flop was Q33. I get bubble.

[/ QUOTE ] It sounds like JJ to AA was the second to last hand.

[/ QUOTE ] Right, but you do not appear to be among the people who understand.

Although I do feel for you in a way. When I was a fish the first live NL200 game I ever played (a huge shot for me) ended with me getting bottom set in against top pair. He runner runnered the boat. Granted that was for several times the money, but...
