[ QUOTE ]
I think it's poutine. It's v popular in Eastern Canada. Comprised of french (HA!) fries covered with cheese curds and gravy. Looks pretty sketchy, tasts yum. [/ QUOTE ] Its Gravy (not the same as turkey dinner) more of a poutine sauce, cheese curds (taste like mozzarella bites or cheese strings) and fries. When I was at Yankee stadium and saw that the masses injest something called cheese fries (fries with nacho cheese on them) I insta puked. Poutines taste great and would be adored by american's if they had a catchy name like freedom fries with anti terror sauce and liberty curds. |

It is not processed. AFAIK, cheese curds are the inital product of the cheese-making process. They are sorta like little cheese crumbles that would have been pressed into blocks (a process called cheddaring) to later become the joy known as cheese.
They are kinda chewy and delish. If you made poutine and used regular shredded cheese, I srsly doubt the poutine police would swoop down and shard your purples. Of course, I'd never advocate flying in the face of the proud culinary traditions of Canada. That would be wrong. |

I lived in Montreal for two years and I must say I never really developed a taste for poutine. Canadians go apeshit over it so I figured it must be good. I really tried to like it but it's just kind of bland and mushy. I'd much rather have regular fries and ketchup.
