Apparently he plays with Phil at least fairly regularly. This is from his website:
Since crashing onto the poker scene in 2006, Brian Townsend (a.k.a. sbrugby/aba20) has become an online legend. Not only is he an awesome player, but he is one of the few high stakes poker players willing to share his tactics. This site brings together in a single place all the information about Brian on the Internet. It includes: High Stakes No Limit Hold'em Poker Strategy Some of the great hands he has played What his opponents say about him Tournaments A brief biography This site is meant as a resource for all aspiring poker players. It will be finished by end of November 2006. In the meantime, if you don't believe that Brian Townsend is a great player then check out this hand: sbrugby ($61,499.50) vs. Phil Ivey ($73,040) No limit Hold'em Heads Up sbrugby posts the small blind of $300 Phil Ivey posts the big blind of $600 *** HOLE CARDS *** sbrugby raises to $1,800 Phil Ivey calls $1,200 *** FLOP *** Phil Ivey checks sbrugby bets $3,200 Phil Ivey calls $3,200 *** TURN *** Phil Ivey checks sbrugby bets $8,800 Phil Ivey raises to $23,400 sbrugby calls $14,600 *** RIVER *** Phil Ivey bets $44,640, and is all in sbrugby calls $33,099.50, and is all in Uncalled bet of $11,540.50 returned to Phil Ivey *** SHOW DOWN *** Phil Ivey shows (two pair, Kings and Jacks) sbrugby shows (a flush, Ace high) sbrugby wins the pot ($122,998.50) with a flush, Ace high. http://www.briantownsend.com/index.htm |

Ah. Gotcha. It did seem odd that someone would present himself that way on his own site.

loseing 300k is not too bad. its like 5 BIs big deal.
lol @ anyone who thinks aba is better than phil Ivey though. I remember aba won some pot like 3 months ago of phill and every one was like OMG he is 10x better than phil. I'm pretty sure if the two played 3/6 for 100k hands, phil would have all of brian's $. Hope they play tonight. |
