Why should FT go through all the trouble to determain if the transfer was legit or not? They did not make the mistake of entering the wrong username.. It's ridick that a player made a mistake and it's FT's fault that they won't do anything about it? I agree they might need to add a confirmation option, but use common sense people and take two seconds to double check you did not make a typo.

Own up to your own mistakes and stop blaming someone else.

Another possible feature that FT could impliment would be to have a part of the trasfer with a confirmation on the end of the receiver.

Ie. You have recieved a money transfer of x. To confirm the transfer please type in the screen name of the individual transferring this money to you.

Most people know up front who and how much they are getting well in advance of a money transfer. However, if it were transferred by accident, there would be no way to steal someones money since you would have to guess who sent it.

dude its your fault. How can you not double check the sender's name before sending money?

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey - I'm told what the name is and I ASSUME it's spelled correctly. IF somebody told you to send money to "baseball" would you ask how it's spelled? When it is really spelled bazeball ?

Yea- I'm to blame - I will admit it but there needs to be OTHER means to get money back. Instead of ignoring a real problem.

Stars has a similar policy, do they not? There is an extra screen to click on that shows the players city, but they won't help if you transfer to the wrong player.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is a confirm screen and an extra piece of confirmation info (city). Thats all people want here.

Bob, what should FTP do if the player who received the funds "incorrectly" claims that the transfer was legit?

Now FTP becomes the judge??

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll answer how I think it should be handled under Bob's plan...

If receiving player claims he should have received the money (within the 2 weeks), he maintains control of the money. This is consistent with their existing policy that the person receiving the mistaken is not obligated to return the money. If the player receiving the money claims it is rightfully his, it stays in his account and becomes an issue between the two players. FT does not have an obligation to do anything more, which is consistent with their existing policy except it avoids situations like this one where the player receiving the funds may not even know he has them.

I like Bob's suggestion.

I agree something needs to be changed with their transfer system. Even a first name or city would be nice. I also agree that them doing nothing when you mistakenly transfered to an unused account is a very bad move on FTs part. I don't blame you for never playing there again.

Banking stuff can be like this. I once went to make a E payment to my Visa from my bank account but by mistake I clicked the wrong visa on my drop down menu at the banks online site. I called the bank within minutes but they were unable to revesre the payment. I had to write the credit company and they mailed a cheque back to me, tokk about 10 days.
Your problem on Fulltilt is a hard one. They could go ahead and transfer the money back and the user who got the money could complain you guys had a outside agreement and demand the money back. Hate to say it, not fulltilts problem really, wait to see if the player sends it back.

Transfers should work both ways like buying and selling T$s on Poker Stars.

I put in that I want to send $1k to joepokerguy123 and joepokerguy123 has to put in that he expects to receive $1k from NoahSD.

FWIW, they do contact the person who received a transfer wrongly. I received one incorrectly about two months ago and sent it back, pretty decent amount, mid four figures and they sent this:

Hello Jon,

Thank you for playing on Full Tilt Poker. We hope you enjoy your stay.

It has come to our attention that a player transfer of $4100, transaction
#xxxxxxxxx, was mistakenly initiated to your account by the sender, "
xxxxxxxxxx ".

On behalf of "xxxxxxxxx ", we would like to request that you initiate a
transfer back to the sender at your earliest convenience. Your
cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation Jon, and
best of luck at the tables!
