No, I mean ceaseless, pointless dreams about cards turning over again and again and again, to no discernable end and with no discernable outcome.

Ugh, this stuff is kinda crazy actually. At times when I've played ridiculous amounts of poker (say 8-9hr+ a day for stretches of a week or more) I find it usual to just have card situations just flying around in your head, visualizing open ended straight draws and whatnot, both when asleep and during the day.

During the desperation phase, there is a marked increase in the time spent gambling. This is accompanied by remorse, blaming others and alienating family and friends. Eventually, the gamblers may engage in illegal acts to finance their gambling. They may experience hopelessness, suicidal thoughts and attempts, arrests, divorce, alcohol and/or other drug abuse, or an emotional breakdown.

In between hands you realize your sixty years old, you haven't seen sunlight in three days, and you wonder about all the other things you could've done with your life.
