[ QUOTE ]
Forget about the roids. From what I've read, seen and heard from him over the years, I think Bonds is pretty much the biggest ass hole I've ever seen in sports who isn't a criminal like OJ or Rae Carruth. [/ QUOTE ] Ted Williams and Ty Cobb were famous as being jerks. Take away their records too. |

Does a-rod have a shot at this record? I think he'd need 35/year for the next like 8 years. He's 31 now. [/ QUOTE ] he is way ahead of the pace that Ruth/Aaron/Bonds set he's got a good shot barring injury |

[/ QUOTE ] he is way ahead of the pace that Ruth/Aaron/Bonds set he's got a good shot barring injury [/ QUOTE ] When ARod signed his big contract with the Rangers, his agent Scott Boras presented the Rangers with a statistical analysis which showed ARod could crack 1,000 home runs in his career. He had 464 entering this year (and a quick 9 so far in 2007). His 35 home runs in 2006 were the fewest he's had since 1997. Since he became a full time player in 1996, he's averaged 41.7 homers per year (39.7/year with Yankees). He would only need to do that for seven more seasons to reach 755. He'd have to average 41.2 home runs per year for the next thirteen seasons in order to actually reach 1,000 homers. He'd be 43 years old in that thirteenth season (2019). |
