You've all got 2 weeks of hypothetical talk left. Peyton is winning this thing, even if he has to play left handed.

haha, so true, Colts win the super bowl 35-14, but i also think that Tom Moore surely has a lot to do with the success of Peyton because he really let Peyton do what he does best and audible. Throw the defense off balance.

Anyone that thinks Peyton becomes an all time great QB regardless of what team he is drafted by/plays for his smoking some seriously strong weed.

[/ QUOTE ]

To do that denies that which defines Manning: his ability to be an Offensive Coordinator on the field. He's the hardest working QB in football, and his football IQ is the highest as well.
Was he sent to the Cardinals in 1998, he probably doesn't get the record for TDs, nor does he get to the playoffs, to say nothing of Wins or Losses there, but his talent would still be evident, if only to those lucky enough to watch Cards games.

Peyton is a great QB and is lucky that he was drafted by a organization that did such a solid job in terms of aquiring and keeping talent and building around him.

If Peyton is drafted by the Cardinals...no one mentions his name 20 years from now.

[/ QUOTE ]
i totally agree, the colts definitely did a great job in building around the offense around Peyton. But I still see him among the greats even if he does not win a ring, even though IMO he should have at least 2 by now, but Peyton has the TD record for a single season, and is on pace to break many more records in terms of offensive production. Yes Brady has 3 rings but his defense was stellar and he just got put into a system that worked. Granted he is great talent, with a great arm and body for QB i just see Brady as more overrated then anything. But to get back to my point that Peyton should still be up with the greats when it is all said and done with even if he were to not win a Super Bowl because Marino is listed as great and only made it to the Super Bowl once and that was in his first year, never took them back again after that, and Marino is recognized as one of the greatest of all time. So even if Peyton were to not win a Championship he will still be labeled as one of the best ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

You def have to put him up there with the greats simply based on the fact that Marino is up there and he never won a SB.

Peyton plays in a dome, is rarely touched, doesn't get injured...so u figure he can play till he is like 38.

He'll def have crazy stats and be the best regular season QB of all time--though I would loved to have seen Marino with that Indy team--but if he only finishes with say 1 ring...
in a lot of peoples minds he won't be #1...but unless Brady gets like 6 rings there is no way he is ever viewed as #1 except in Boston.

again...the system designed for him. On a lot of teams his talent would never be fully utilized. This is the case with many QB's

If Gary Kubiak coached Mike Vick...he probably be in the hunt for the superbowl every year.

The Colts pretty much were the Cardinals before Manning got there. Outside of one fluke year with Jim Harbaugh they had never won a playoff game since coming to Indy.

Peyton isn't the reason they became great. Just like Brady isn't the reason NE won 3 superbowls.
He was a huge factor but

A someone had to choose him as their QB
B someone had to aquire WR's,Te's,Olinemen, a offensive cordinator who would realize what he had in Peyton and build the perfect system around him and his talent.

Anyone that thinks Peyton becomes an all time great QB regardless of what team he is drafted by/plays for his smoking some seriously strong weed.

You can say that all you want but bad organizations seem to get turned around real quick when they get lucky enough to find a franchise QB. I guess Jim Mora must have been a developmental genius.

Its kind of pathetic...but you realize how much abuse Manning will get if the Colts actually lose right? It will be crazy Manning bash time. Especially if he throws a couple of pics etc.

I figure its
Colts 27
Bears 20

but if its a upset it'll be
Bears 30
Colts 17

the thing that makes manning great is that he is an offensive quarterback out on the field, no way will he lose this game, he got here there is no way he is gonna lose this one. Chicago has no offense and we saw what the Colts did to the teams that had no offense(ie the ravens),

Colts win
35-14 blow out no way the bears can stop Peyton, he is on too much of a roll

Every QB drafted in the top 3 is a franchise qb.

If Jake Plummer is drafted by Bill Walsh instead of Buddy Ryan or whoever it was that drafted him....who knows how much better of a career he has or doesn't has.
Or better yet..if Mike Shanahan gets Mike Vick instead of Griese/bubby/Plummer etc

It makes ALL the difference. A Qb has to have the tools and talents, smart, drive etc...but you can't fit a square peg into a round hole no matter how hard u try.

This is why I'm tempted to bet the Bears moneyline...Everyone is way underestimating the Bears it seems.

The Bears can put up points but it all depends on Grossman.
If Grossman has a solid game they could EASILY beat if not blowout the Colts.

Put Grossman playing well especially in the SB is a big if.
