I think they don't quite get the concept of limited commentary. Limited commentary doesn't mean that you simply take at random one statement out of 50 that would normally be said and say it. And now that I've listened to the players, I'm not sure that the concept is worth getting right anyway. In every sport fans rag on commentators, but they're the ones who keep the show watchable.

Sheik to Hellmuth : "You see how fast I called you there Philip"

I laughed. I mean, "Philip"

Btw, Steve Z asked Phil about playing in "the big game". Hellmuth said that he was there last week and won $200.000.

The best commentary that I've heard on a poker show was on monte carlo milllions.

I saw the streaming episode and I enjoyed it. I would rather listen to the table talk then to after the fact announcing.

Minimal announcing from Oliver Nejad is better than having him talk through the whole show. I'd prefer he didn't talk at all. This might work with a good announcer.

If they are going to have any announcing, they do need to introduce the person talking. It's weird to all of the sudden have a comment show up out of nowhere then disappear for a while.

My thoughts after episode one...

I like the fact that they are showing virtually the entire sng...but cmon...these early hands?

More Shana is needed. If you ask me, its on way too late lol. And its holdem, nothing hold em related keeps me very interested for very long these days.

jesus you guys are hard to please. People hate on High Stakes Poker b/c you can't hear the table talk. People hate on the WPT type shows b/c they're so heavily edited. Now this show let's you listen to all the talk and see almost all of the hands and people are saying they want more announcers and more editing. wtf? I think it's really good so far.

HSP got it perfect during the second season, there was plenty of the table talk along with enough Gabe. I turned this off about half way through(mainly because I cant stand Hellmuth)Might look it up again later in the week once it becomes a better game to watch, didnt care for the early round last night.

Lots of Full Tilt logos on there. Will it bring the fish to FTP?

I really enjoyed this show. Loved the fact that there is little to no commentary and lots of table talk.

Also, the fact that most hands are shown. It takes away everything I don't like about other poker shows.

Set the Tivo to record them all season.
