A high school friend of mine went by the nickname OJ, but started going by his real name (Oshiomogho) in college. Now he plays for the Rams and most of the annoncers have reverted to calling him OJ.

I don't think this thread has produced any strong examples yet.

On another note, I once knew a German Shepered named Adolf, he lived in Berlin, MA. weird.
