They don't even show the whole video. All they only show the 20 seconds where the cop is beating the dude. It was probably another Rodney King wannabe who deserved it. He was probably being a f-in smartass and resisting arrest and he got what he deserved. I have no sympathy at all for these people. We give the cops the power, so let them do there jobs. [/ QUOTE ] |

absolutely no call for that under any circumstances. i have restrained kids that size before with one or two helpers, or solo. there are just much better ways to do it. plus these guys are allowed to use pepper spray and tasers.
in actual practice the pain the kid went through is probably LESS than getting sprayed or tasered but it looks terrible and it makes the job harder for other, more competent cops. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah this the problem that most of yall dont seem to understand. This sort of behavior doesnt make people fear the cops or behave better, it makes them hate the cops and trust them less and more likely to run/resist. |

[/ QUOTE ] It's OK, as most of the people with that attitude don't know the difference between "they're","there", and "their" anyhow. I'm actually wondering if people who misuse "there" like that originally wrote "them there", and killed the "them" in a failed attempt to sound more educated. |

Here's what I think happened. None of the responses in this thread mention what I'm about to say. Read this, then go back and look at the video again.
Suspect is whining, "I can't breath." Then he stops whining. Then he gets tuned up. Here's what I think happened: I think he bit the officer in the leg. And the officer didn't like being bitten. The officer's body language changes dramatically in an instant. You hear "Let go!", and it doesn't sound like the suspect's voice. I think he had a mouthful of bacon (sorry, couldn't resist the metaphor), and he's lucky the punching stopped when he stopped biting. Anybody think I'm onto something here? EDIT: I just watched it again. At the end, the cop is saying "Let go of me," while the suspect isn't using his hands. I'm convinced there was biting going on there. |

Can someone confirm if being a smartass makes it OK for cops to violate your civil rights? Thanks. |

there isnt a single situation where what the cop did was ok, dont play the, i want to see the rest of the video card. He could have just raped the dudes wife and thats still not proper protocol. The dude is on the ground under control, punching to the face just seems like you might be a retarded cop and have no control of your emotions.
