I was there on Saturday early morning (thank God!) by noon the board was several pages deep for any game. People were waiting 3 hours or more to get on any table.

Peace,
Mygtar

With lots of people having Friday off for Veteran's Day, I'd say get there as early as humanly possible.

ps. anyone who posted about cutting/stealing names really looks like a huge scumbag. i am by no means a nit, but have some class.

you guys who cut are probably the same ppl who constantly switch lanes during rush our, because OH LOOK! THE OTHER LANE IS MOVING FASTER.

It's kind of hard to say when is optimal for the bigger games. If they've been going all night, earlier is better (like 9 or 10 AM at the latest) because the list will fill up pretty quick and the floor often seems loathe to start new games. If the game breaks the night before, it can take until 11 AM or so the next day for a big enough list to fill for them to want to start a new one. I think the 20/40 goes constantly year-round (someone correct me if I'm wrong; I don't really play it so I'm not as attuned to it's status) so it should certainly be going whenever you get there. Bigger games (50/100, 75/150, etc.) seem less likely to run overnight but that's hard to gauge with the tournament in town.

For example, I went last Sunday and got on the list for 5/10 NL at about 9 AM. The list was 8 people deep at that point and there was one table going. They were about to open a 2nd game around 9:45 when two guys left the already existing game. They started calling names off the list and 3 people weren't there so the next two got it and we were left with a 3-person list and they gave up on starting a new table. It was another half-hour or so before I got a seat. If the two guys in the game hadn't left right at that moment, we probably would've started a new 5-man game right at 9:45.

Thursday afternoon. It is going to be insanely busy this weekend. Think Times Square on 12/31/99

I was there the Friday before the WPF started (Oct 27). I showed up around 12:30 and there were 1 - 2 hour waits for most games. Considering the main event is about to start and it's Veteran's Day, I would get there early as you can.

You think it will be busier than last weekend? I thought that the lower buy-in tournaments last weekend were the reason it was so packed and that it might actually be a little less crowded this weekend, since the riff-raff won't be ponying up $10k to play on Sunday. Am I dreadfully wrong? If so, I'll save the time.
