Chan and his "clan" have been here long enough (decades) and have been involved in the gambling industry long enough to know what goes on. Someone claiming that another guy owes him 6 million is not going to cause Gold to "lose face" with Chan or Chan to lose face with anyone else. So far all we have is the story of one guy. Maybe it's true and maybe it's not. Even if it's true we all know that when it comes to big money everything is negotiable.
