Somebody in another thread said they were a subscriber and couldn't get channel 125 through the Sirius website. Can any subsribers confirm that they can actually listen to this channel online? I'd get a Sirius subsription for a month just for this if I know it will definitely work.

Yeah. I concur.
It is shameful at how half ass the coverage is. I mean after Moneymaker and Raymer as well as last years Card Player radio I would have figured that someone would have figured out how to broadcast tyhis event to the largest possible audience. I would subsribe as well for a month if I could get it online. That and the fact that they won't be showing hole cards live? Wasn't that already done in CT with Dagostino and Ivey? Very sad state of affairs. |

I'd say hell no. During the breaks, people would just run out, call thier buddy, and ask what the 2 seat is raising with, did I make a good laydown, etc. Things that they should not know until after the tournament. This is obvious, and to be pissed at ESPN for not showing you the hole cards is ridiculous. And on the sirius radio, of course they don't want you to just be able to sign up for a month, then drop the subscription. It's smart business on their part. They have the rights to the WSOP. If you want to hear it, you have to buy it from them, which includes buying a receiver and getting a subscription. It's cracking me up how everyone complains about the coverage, but no one wants to pay anything for it. People complain about how crappy CP's coverage is, yet it costs you nothing. Everyone wants to hear it on the radio, but a $10 a month service is too much. You're calling everything "half ass coverage". Well, hell, what do you want? Sirius is providing live coverage by Negreanu, Hellmuth and other pro's. But, to get that, you have to pay for it. Do you expect all this to be set up, paid for, etc for free? Most people aren't in the business of providing services for free. |

Now correct me if I am wrong, but since I have one of the worst cable providers in the world, and own a Mac, I cannot watch the PPV. Espn.com says that the PPV is not mac compatible, but I signed up for a unrestricted 3 day trial at sirus.com I think this is the ticket for me, I got my login password, etc etc, this morning, so I am keeping my fingers crossed...
ALSO if anyone in the PHX area has Dish network, or a less sucky cable provider and is watching the PPV, please let me know, I will chip in and bring some beer, or if anyone in PHX knows of any sportsbar etc that will be showing the FT please give me a heads up..... Good Luck and happy viewing OH WELL, its a NO GO, 125 not available online, anyone have any ideas???? |

Although cable/satellite TV has moved in another direction, folks have decided the added value of a gazillion channels is worth moving to a partially consumer paid for model. With radio, that leap hasn't occurred for most people, and having one program once a year on one channel that you want to hear, is not the value added that makes most people want to jump over to this new business model. *Shrugs* Services may not be free, but bitchin about it is pretty natural. Edit: Not to mention, they have the capability to broadcast this to subscribers over the net, but make you pay for special equipment to get all the channels....that's really really lame. |

They could still use hole-cams but somehow isolate the players from people on their breaks.
Sort of sequster them like for jurys. And keep them far away enough from the rail so that they could not be passed signals from the crowd. This would also ensure that there is no coaching once the FT has started. Hole-cams are what makes poker watchable to the majority of the viewing audience. They must actually have hole-cams for when this is broadcast after the fact but not showing them for the live broadcast. |
