So as of now, Party has just stolen about $1 Million from its players. [/ QUOTE ] That's obviously not true. The funds have been re-allocated among players but that's not remotely close to Party "stealing" funds. Obviously I'm not excusing them but don't say they're stealing. |

They are friggin' clueless. I got a similar email pointing out that the barely ITM payout money has already been allocated to my account, so basically I should be very happy.
Yeah, right. |

All of you should also email and point out that this is when the problems occurred and some players were able to steal blinds freely at that point and build huge stacks. Geez, they can look at the server logs, or the hand histories and see that oakman42 on my table was able to steal 20 or 30 blinds in a row without opposition. -Z Edit - From my HH: #Game No : 4892376228 ***** Hand History for Game 4892376228 ***** NL Texas Hold'em Trny:27022446 Level:11 Blinds-Antes(1000/2000-75) - Sunday, August 06, 20:04:46 ET 2006 Table Sunday Million Guaranteed(780579) Table #46 (Real Money) Seat 3 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 2: oakman42 ( $20637 ) Seat 3: paveplanet ( $22866 ) Seat 5: LARGECAPS ( $22544 ) Seat 7: REWOP12 ( $7596 ) Seat 8: Toddyhack10 ( $22362 ) Seat 1: timkey31 ( $7660 ) Seat 10: glamp1 ( $89286 ) Seat 9: d4heals ( $16595 ) Seat 6: GOTTACALLME ( $21535 ) Seat 4: snowybluff ( $38514 ) Trny:27022446 Level:11 Blinds-Antes(1000/2000-75) timkey31 posts ante [75]. oakman42 posts ante [75]. paveplanet posts ante [75]. snowybluff posts ante [75]. i talked to the party vip and had quite a nice chat.
i pointed him to this thread and laid out the entire set of concerns. equity wise it doesn't effect me all that much but its a big deal as a regular party tourney player. bottom line: the management is looking into what to do. they realize it was a mistake not to cancel at 752, at least it was said "it could have been handled better" the ultimate problem is the following: if they roll it back to 752 (when they should have stopped the tourney) the people who gained chips, in whatever form after 752 but before it was canceled, will feel like they are screwed out of equity. the question is where will the makeup come from, if it comes at all. |

party should run it from when the problem began-752...but give every player double their buy-in prior---the players who didnt get booted shouldnt have anything to gripe about given it was a software malfunction that allowed them to increase their stacks.

the ultimate problem is the following: if they roll it back to 752 (when they should have stopped the tourney) the people who gained chips, in whatever form after 752 but before it was canceled, will feel like they are screwed out of equity. [/ QUOTE ] A number of players were able to build up quite nicely by unfairly stealing blinds. And already big stacks were able to survive, only losing 10-15K in blinds. The players that were hurt the most were small to below average stacks, like me. We were wiped out or pretty much crippled without an opportunity to play. Actually, small stacks should probably get MORE than chip count. For example, when a deal is proposed at a final table, the small stacks are the ones that typically get more than chip count, because they have more to gain by playing on. They should definitely get more than standard payout for helplessly busting in the first or second pay-tier. -Z |
