I completed my reg. this morning. The woman I talked to said that there were currently 7400+- registered, and they were capping it at 8200, with any runners after that designated as alternates. I asked if there was a possibility of 11 handed, and she had no idea.
Take the above with a grain of salt....lots of conflicting info going around, but it did come from someone working the registration desk. |

My friend just called and said that they were above 8000 and that the tournament may start 11-handed. He did not hear anything about alternates

I can confirm that there were at least 7400 yesterday afternoon. Lots of folks in line to buy seats all afternoon and evening, as I understand it. I think there will be right around 8.2k by midday tomorrow.

Why would 11-handed suck? The only down-side I see is that it is crowded at the table. Everything else is a +. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Why would 11-handed suck? [/ QUOTE ] That a pretty big down-side when you're seated beside the wrong kind people =P Why is everything else a + ? I don't see anything that can compensate for seeing less hands vs a weak field due to being 11 handed that would make it better than being 9 or 10 handed. |
