Oh and if you get the huge urge to blaze, call somebody and tell them. Perhaps try NA (narcotics anonymous)

So this is our curse that we have to live with for KKF being permanently banned?

[/ QUOTE ]

hell no.

I never have and never will post anything anonymously - what have I said in real life I wouldn't say on here?

I do have a rarely used gimmick account however.

I quit 5 years and 2 months ago. Yes, it can be randomly difficult early on, and you will continue to have random intervals of this really odd feeling that you know can be instantly solved by lighting up. It is all on will power to refuse. Yes, it does get easier. I doubt that it ever goes away entirely. The idea that I might actually smoke again is absurd, but there are still rare days, twice a year or so, when I get that really weird feeling that I know you're going through now. There was a response in this thread that said you might have been using weed to self-medicate. This was true for me. Part of the quitting process is learning to deal with your emotions like an adult. These feelings... are normal. Honestly, I doubt they have anything to do with weed, but you and I have been associating that feeling with the knowledge of "I need to smoke now" for years. Understand? Quitting for me was a wake-up experience. It was like I was learning, finally, how to function as an adult. It took at least a year for me to start feeling "normal," and about 3 years to stop thinging of myself as a (reformed) drug addict, first and foremost.

[/ QUOTE ]This post is probably going to make me quit.

Maybe you should try smoking in moderation.

No, if he's smoking 1/8 to 1/4 every day, then he's got a serious problem, and it's very unlikely that being an occasional smoker is an option for him. Would you tell someone who downed two liters of vodka a day just to have an occasional drink or two?

To the OP: do your friends smoke regularly? If so, you're going to have a very hard time hanging out with them and staying sober. Something to consider. Also, as has been suggested, if you ever get the urge don't be afraid to call someone or go to a meeting -- NA or AA, in most places it won't matter which, and in some places AA would be vastly preferable. Good luck, sir.

Post in this thread everyday to keep us updated. You've come a helluva long way to day 36. You are probably in the thick of the pain right now, so realize that and don't let it beat you.

Synchronize "Dark Side of the Moon" and the Wizard of the Oz. Meditate about not smoking weed.
