The chance at this seems too +ve to pass up I'd be glad to be in a table with you silent.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think someone calculated the EV to be around $2/table. So, it really isn't too much when put into EV terms. But, if you have nothing better to do...

[/ QUOTE ]
lol based on that I haven't even made $2 table because of damn random misclick blind steals.

[/ QUOTE ]

Its $2 per table during the prime time hours. It can be an ev of up to 12-20 per table during the very slow hours.

The biggest problem I see is that it may possibly be 2-3 hours between milestone hands during the slow hours as there will only be about 2000 hands per minute or less. During prime time hours Stars can sustain 10-15K hands per minute and there should be milestones every 30-50 minutes.

OK, the following people have said they could go from 11:00pm ET until at least noon :

Silent A
Thing85
136913691369
JackofSpeed
Ptolemy

The following have said they're good from 11:00pm until 6AM:

britdevine
bills217
Olin Preflup

These people have said they're in, but haven't told me when (or can't confirm yet):

grac
dieharder
godofgamblers
rednax

That's 12. Enough to get 2 groups of 6 if we can get the time windows straight.

I suggest we keep the 11-noon and 11-6am groups seperate.

I am willing to organize the 11-noon group (need 1 more spot!). Send me your AIM ID if you're on my list. If you don't have AIM try to get it (i'm new to it too, it's OK).

Don't be too concerned about not getting in with the group you want because I am sure people will come along to keep your group going after some of the inital guys have to leave.

For those who want to skip the late night stretch and start Saturday I suggest you try to form your own groups. I can't organize you all, i'm just the facilitator here.

If anyone needs one more filler for 11pm to 1am or so, hit me up. Available sometime again Saturday morning. Been sick, so sleep is required in between.

I can be in on the 11-6 group, I am impressed by the amount of people going until noon. I need my rest after that stretch. Of course there will be more shifts tommorrow night and I'd likely like to give it another shot after a break in between. Also all of you can add me to AIM it's g1rac THANKS

you guys realize that it doesn't matter that it's $5 per table for ev, just that if you hit, you win $2K min

I don't know about you and your roll, but for a lot of us, 2k is huge.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's just glazing over the concept of expected value. It's like saying "I don't care if chasing my gutshot draw was -EV, it won me a $500 pot." Or like saying "who cares if the lottery is -EV? If you hit it, you win millions." Rationally speaking, if you can expect to earn more than $5/hour per table, by playing regular poker, everything else held constant, it would make sense to do that over trying for this milestone hand. In fact, if your regular 8-tabling is on Stars anyway, you still have a shot at the milestone hand as well.

But I do agree that for something like this, it's easy to ignore the concept of EV, and for some, it's still worth it to do so.
