I honestly can't see the warriors, with their current roster, ever being better than a 4 seed.

[ QUOTE ] So who's going to overpay for Barnes this summer? Hopefully GS, he fits well there. [/ QUOTE ] Knicks, duh. [/ QUOTE ] Since they're one of the few teams that ENJOYS being over the luxury tax, this is obviously the correct answer. |

With Dallas, Phoenix and San Antonio will anyone else ever be better than a 4 seed?

I can see Utah being there, easily. Also a full season of Melo and AI or T-Mac and Yao. The West is still stacked.

He ain't getting any younger, either. Neither is Dallas. I wouldn't at all be surprised if one of those teams doesn't get a top 3 seed next year. |

A few stat liners from the game -
warriors diamond in the sandbox: Monta Ellis, 5-11 from the field, 2-2 from the line, 3 boards, 3 TOs, 12 points. seems like he finally regained some of his composure in the last game for him this season. warriors ugly stick in that mudbox: SJaxx, 3-17 from the field. Atleast he went 9-9 from the FT line for 16 points. 5 assists to 3 TOs, 2 steals, 2 blocks. If he really didnt shoot as much he'd be such a sick 3rd option to Jrich and Baron. JRich needs to demand the ball, too. Something worrying for Utah: Deron, going 1-11 from the field with 5 TOs (vs 7 assists) and 5 fouls. He has to expect things just get worse, as both Nash and Parker are better PGs then Baron (or atleast on the same level) so neither will make it any easier for him in round 3. really love AK47 getting back to his grassroots, 8-12 from the field, 5-5 from the FT line, 15 boards w/ 6 of them offensive, 1:1 A:T, 3 steals. (leading scorer with 21) |

Bobbo, I really think Davis is a tougher matchup defensively for Deron then either of those two.

A couple other crazy things: -The Clippers are still a good team! Remember, this was last years playoff darling that barely missed THIS years playoff dance. Elton Brand = Carlos Boozer, they still have a few nice pieces. (Cassell for one more year, maybe Kaman reappears as a frontcourt presence, Shaun Livingston will be back from his torn knee, Maggette). -The Hornets! Had Peja not gone down for significant time, this probably would've been the 8th seed - Peja, Chris Paul, Chandler. Unfortunately they overpaid David West alot, but they're losing Desmond Mason. (Which I think is a blessing in disguise) Not to mention they have a lotto pick. -All current playoff western teams; None of them are getting any weaker! -Other wildcard is Sacramento. Bibby, Miller, Artest, Abdur-Rahim, Martin is not a bad core. They lose no one of significance, and they have owners who like to pay $$$. |
