I wouldn't sport those penny loafer things; they're not my style. I'd never be caught dead in the crocs. I thought they were just chick shoes.

A lot of nurses I work with wear them. Well, not in L&D, too messy.
I have heard they are comfortable and yes, the anti-microbial and odor resistant properties are good for nursing among other things. Not really for me though. I think they look like good shoes to putz around in the garden in. Definitely more girlie, imo. I see a lot of little kids wearing them too. |

You should probably stay away from CO...same deal- everyone wears them everywhere! |

Men wear them too. I have a feeling if I got a pair of these I would wear them everywhere. I love the feel of comfortable shoes. I wonder if they're decent for hiking. A friend of mine who went to Guatemala for a month said a lot of people down there wear them. She said she'd definitely buy a pair if she went back because they're perfect for the rainy climate. |

I would not recommend them for hiking...not nearly enough protection for your feet or support for your feet and ankles.

Mrs. Utah, I was surprised to hear you say that people wear Crocs in your hospital.
There's been a lot of press lately about how dangerous they can be. Don't mean to hijack the thread at all, but hey, it's about fashion and I'm pretty fashion-hopeless. Does anyone know the rules about what someone should wear to a Catholic summer wedding? All my dresses are black or show cleavage, and I have very little time to find something appropriate, especially considering I don't know what's appropriate. /hijack |

I always thought cleavage was acceptable at Catholic weddings.

[/ QUOTE ] Interesting, I have not heard anything about them here. A lot of people wear not only the Crocs but other plastic-y type clogs. Many are specifically designed for hospital use. As for me, I like my old Adidas and surgical shoe covers ![]() I look hot! |
