That said, I prefer playing 60/8 players, but playing a table full of 12/9 2+2'ers is just easier and lower variance. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Congratulations to all you nits on Full Tilt, you're welcome for the money I've donated to you today when you [censored] [censored] have hit your [censored] 1/8 set p.s. Played this one like a donkey. I just got PAHUD which wasn't working right, and wasn't paying attention to villain. Afterwards I checked his pt stats, he's 50/2 over 40 hands which might mean when her raises, or check reraises he might just have a monster. Oh well donks gotta get lucky every once in awhile. I think based on this play, I'm ready to move up to $25NL. I also missed value when I flopped the third nut str8 when a guy flopped a set.

If I don't stop making mistakes for my stack, it's time to get a real job, real soon. [/ QUOTE ] haha snap sir, except for the real job bit (which might apply anyway but for different reasons). so far i've been way too loose in terms of going all-in and am basically breaking even at 25nl (lol) because of it. i blame sngs. edit: that and i get bored (4-tabling) when nothing's going on for a while and end up raising from ep with like 64o and three-barrelling. i think that's a leak. |

Pfff I just can't win since I've been back, had another 2 hour 4tabling 25nl session, and won a whole dollar!
Had my ace high flush on the flop cracked by backdoor quads (the guy had a pair of kings on the flop) My straight on the flop by a backdoor full house... pffff... I'm gonna do some donkaments now I really need to win big! |

Had my ace high flush on the flop cracked by backdoor quads (the guy had a pair of kings on the flop) My straight on the flop by a backdoor full house... pffff... I'm gonna do some donkaments now I really need to win big! [/ QUOTE ] Hehe, I feel with you. I haven't had a single winning morning session (@50NL) since the start of this year (9/9 to be precise). Furthermore, I've only had two winning days since then (and one of them by a veeery thin margin). It'd be easy to blame variance, but I'm tired of thinking I'm on a downswing. Also, 3 downswings within 2 months after beating the game good for 6 months just doesn't make sense. Looks like this new breed of lagfishniacs at FT are spanking me good. I can't get what's going on in their heads, so I'm losing badly. From what I could gather it goes a bit like this: When someone raises, they'll roll a die to decide whether they enter, reraise, or fold. On the flop, they'll religiously check when first to act, IP they seem to flip a coin and act on that. If you bet and they hold trash, they roll a die to decide whether they'll call, raise, fold, or push. They'll usually call with a monster, and usually raise/push with anything from 2nd pair or better. The same on the turn. On the river, they'll also check if first to act, but react after your bet according to their hand strength. It's mindtwistingly annoying, because I can't read them. Their actions just don't make any sense. You can't only play pure value, because they'll (float/)bluff you out of the hand at random intervals, and the blinds + rake will do the rest to kill you off. It's so great to see the guys in the videos say "I'll reraise this guy's raise, because the way he played his hand doesn't really represent X, it looks more like a scared Y to me". Well guess what, these guys' hands don't EVER make sense or represent anything. And good luck narrowing down a villain's range of 60/30/4, especially, when those 30 PFR don't come from their strongest hands, but seemingly random. Rant over. Anyone feel the same? I hate to admit that I'm not able to beat those guys currently, but neither can I see a strategy that will work against them. If there was only one of them at a table I'm usually able to beat him (but at high variance), but with 2 or three of them always in the hand, it seems impossible to beat the group. I'm not at all as negative as it sounds, but I think it's time to revamp my style completely, or maybe try another site. I just have to find a nice place with good unmentionables. Any hints? |
