I listened to the Cardplayer coverage last year and it seems like it ended around 9am EST (6am in Vegas). Anyone else recall that? [/ QUOTE ] That sounds about right; I half-remember it ending around dawn in Vegas. |

Phil Gordon is way to tight. Apparently if you call on an A-high flop as the chip leader you have to have an ace. Ever heard of floating Phil?

owned. If they show that on TV, I'd be willing to make a bet on that being a second barrel with air.

HAND 19 Lee on the buttom. Folded to Kim, he raises his standard to 480k. Gold immediately calls and Kim sighs in disgust. All else fold. Flop 6s-Ac-Jd Kim bets 800k, Gold beats him into the pot. Turn 4d Kim bets 1.5m, Gold folds, GO TECH! [/ QUOTE ] Insta-call, insta-call, fold...wtf? Gold have TT? |

Yeah, Doug said Gold did the same thing to him the other day:
"gold was first to show and mucked his hand when i told him to show. i had to show to win the pot." I'd make him show what he's bluffing with, get the information you pay for. |

HAND 20
Friberg's button. I hope we don't miss this hand looking at TJ's mug. Gold raises to 500k and takes the B+A. |

Turn 4d Kim bets 1.5m, Gold folds, GO TECH! [/ QUOTE ] If there's a problem with the commentary, it's that they're giving too much credit for big hands. In this hand, Gold called immediately both pre-flop and on the flop (not even half second each time). Gordon said he expected Gold to have "at least an Ace, perhaps AQ or AT". Based on the reporting of Gold's play, I don't find it hard to believe he would call on that flop with a Jack or a pocket pair. |
