Guys, the whole narrative theme of the show is "everyone's justified in their own minds." If we get some 'other' flashbacks, that's gonna be awesome.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] OK, I have a question/theory. Any theories on what the "look" between Kate and Jack near the end meant? To me, it had kind of a "everything is ok, this is part of the plan" feel to it. Do you think they planned to get captured? [/ QUOTE ] "Sayid is gonna [censored] these guys UP!" was what the look said to me. I wish. [/ QUOTE ] Yep. Sayid and Jin go back and recruit Eko (assuming he's not dead). They get more firepower, Eko's Bible stick and then go to town. That would be a great start to season 3. [/ QUOTE ] That exact plan worked so well the first couple times, there's absolutely no reason to believe it won't work now. |

[ QUOTE ]
Any chance the Others were unwillingly brought to the island just like the Losties, OR joined Dharma but have now been forsaken/abandoned, and their goal now is escape from the island? It explains "We're the good guys," but it would mean Gale is lying to Michael. Also, Others didn't seem shocked by the "EMP", which implies knowledge of what it is, which implies that they'd WANT it to happen if they're trying to get off the island, which is weird that they wouldn't have stopped the button from being pushed long ago. I guess I just shot down my own theory. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe the Others are the ones that abandoned Dharma. They were originally the Dharma employees staffing the island but now they have some objection to Dharma's evil ways (which is why most of the island's stations seemed abandoned). They know how to get off the island (sail in whatever direction they told Michael), but for yet to be explained reasons they need to stay, probably to fight against Dharma. (The "spook" from Shawshank said he was a Dharma employee and refered the Others as hostiles.) While they have background info of some or all of the plane crash people, they're still suspicious of whoever ends up on the island and divide them into "good" and "bad" people because the bad ones could potentially be w/Dharma and working against the Others? This is all just my own speculation. |

[/ QUOTE ] What got me thinking on that line in the first place was a spoiler comment someone posted: "Next season will be Us vs Them - and it's not who you think." You WOULD think that meant losties vs others, so if it's not that, then they team up against some common foe. Someone evil or someone keeping them on the island. |

[ QUOTE ] All, this entire thread has 0 good posts. except for that one guy who says he quit lost. lol, see you in the fall buddy. all in all, i liked this episode. the last scene was kinda dumb, but it just showed how now they can be rescued. [/ QUOTE ] The last scene was brilliant. Kind of "WTF???" and "OMG the cavalry are coming" at the same time. [/ QUOTE ] i initially fast forwarded through that scene because of the extreme shift in color/lighting being so sudden that i thought it was a commercial. then at high speed i caught the big "LOST" and went back. then i was like "wtf." however, the best thing about this is that clearly people assume anyone who lives where there is snow is russian. citanul |

The containers found in the clearing obviously weren't being returned. That pile would have filled up the entire Pearl station. WTF- they don't know how to recycle? Must have been a big room they stored them all in

I wasn't really paying attention, since I was sure it was a commercial. So, it's apparent that Penelope has to have some sort of connection to/knowledge of Dharma, since the people in the snow (Russians, Eskimos, whatever...) were monitoring electromagnetic pulses? What's the significance of them being in the snow as opposed to somewhere in the South Pacific? |
