I agree that the connotations of the word inside, could have some effect with regard to state of mind/tone of the conversation, but I don't think its that large, plus lots of other words carry similar connotations.

i think 'inside?' is getting a raw deal. it's a lot better than 6/10, but it's obviously not perfect. it's a lot more likely to get a response than telling the girl she's cute or introducing yourself.
