I didn't watch it. I actually had to check to make sure game 7 was tonight, I didn't want to say "OMGZ reggie is teh pwn 2nite" when game 7 was last night and the celtics won. shows how much I know about basketball.
Also, Nowitzki will pwn. So will Reggie. |

Jeter scored |

If none of those workout, they could get Jake Peavy from the underachieving Padres. [/ QUOTE ] Never going to happen. Peavy is so loved by both the fans and the front office he wont be traded. How can you call the Padres underachieving? We've won 6 in a row, 3 at the NL champions house. They had a slow start, and only 2 games out of first. Underachieving=yankees. |

So are you saying that you agree with my suggestion? Put Bubba in center, Womack back at second, and move Matsui back to left. Let's face facts: . 1) Bubba is speedy 2) Matsui is not. 3) You need to be speedy to play center field in Yankee Stadium. Bernie is not speedy anymore. 4) Womack plays a good second base. Our problems in center field are costing us a lot of runs. So what do you think? I still agree that pitching is our biggest problem(although the offense has been inconsistent- 15 runs one game, and 2 the next), but why not plug the defensive holes that we can? Maybe Burnett will be available at the deadline if the Marlins are out of it. And about Cano: He is hitting .200, that's true, but it's only over 3 games. I think that he is one of our better prospects(not saying much), and that he will be successful in the major leaguers. It would be cool to keep him playing, but Womack has a better bat. He's hitting in the high 200s right now. Also, Gammons said tonight that a bunch of teams are interested in Karsay. Granted, it's Gammons talking, which means that his statements must be taken with a grain of salt, but if true then this means that the Yankees could get an outfielder within the next month. Would the D Rays be willing to part with talent i.e., Hall, Huff, Crawford, etc.? They might be had for reasonable money (in Yankee dollars) and they might be doable since I don't think the Rays will be contending for a few more years if ever. Aubrey Huff would be cool. One thing is for sure. The Yankees WILL get a quality outfielder either very soon(within the next couple of weeks), or at the trade deadline. It could be Griffey, it could be Cameron, it could be others. [/ QUOTE ] Trade for Burnett if the Marlins are out of it? Come on man, face the facts. First of all, there is pretty much no chance the Marlins will be out of it. Second of all, the Yankees have NOTHING that the Marlins would want in return. It seems like you are arbitrarily picking "dream players" for the Yankees and trying to think of how to make it happen. Realistically, the Yankees could get Aubrey Huff, but Huff doesn't solve their problems. The Yankees might just have to do what every other team does when they make wretched off season moves: rebuild with young unproven players. -James |
