prahlad's exact words were "so if he threw the ante out, he just gets robbed."
its been said near a hundred times on here that prahlad called lisandro a robber, and that simply did not happen. |

I agree w/ NCAces...it seemed pretty clear to me that Prahlad was just trying to throw the biggest threat at the table off his game, which in the manner that Prahlad went about it was unethical IMO. Also, Lisandro has been known to play cards w/ some pretty shady characters around the world. To go along w/ that, he is an Aussie and appears to be a pretty strong dude. As a general rule, Aussies are very nice people, but usually willing to rumble if the need arises. It is very easy for Prahlad to make these character accusations when he is protected by cameras and casino staff, but what if he was in a cash game in a card room in the Czech Republic and started accusing Lisandro of not posting. IMO, if that were the case he would keep his mouth shut. Cowardly move on Prahlad's part, it's that simple.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] that flop bet w/ AJ vs Gold on the KKJ flop is soooooooo bad [/ QUOTE ] Most obvious WA/WB situation ever especially vs a guy capable of check/raises with air. Only card he has to fear is a Q coming off. [/ QUOTE ] That's why I like the flop bet. He makes the bet and it looks like he missed or at least he gives Gold the green light to raise with air and Gold is happy to oblige. Now if Gold really had a K or AA would he have the guts to bet here which would scare the opponent away? I think not. The guy needs to push his AJ when Gold check-raises. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah this is real easy to criticize when you can see the hole cards. This guy knew Jamie Gold had a read on him, because he was nervous as hell and only seemed comfortable playing the nuts. Jamie knows this and knows the only hand his opponent will call a raise with is a King. The kid is so nervous, he is never going to give himself the chance to get to third level thinking on this hand. |

tech,
Did you try to correct Jamie the tenth time he called out "7,8,9, or Q!!!! Oh, but not clubs!!!!" ? I really, really wanted to see a 9 fall. Actually, an offsuit deuce would have been the best, then you could have raked that huge pot to double w/ King-high. And you could have yelled NUTS no pair, no Ace!!!!! |

[/ QUOTE ] Not criticizing and it has nothing to do with seeing hole cards. How typical is it to see a paired flop like that, to bet out and have an aggressive player like Gold make a large re-raise with air? The answer is very typical. Now how typical is it to see the same aggressive player like Gold make the same bet with the King? Not as typical. I would say that 80%+ of the time when Gold made his big raises he did not have the goods; hence his large chip stack. The best way to beat a guy like that is to play back at him and/or to call his big bets with a strong holding like AJ on a KKJ board. Now sometimes you might run into a real hand like the TT guy did when he had an overpair to the board. It happens. But I think on the KKJ board, it should have been fairly obvious that Gold didn't have a K and I'm pretty sure that most good players would have called him there. |

Talking at the table and trying to tilt your opponent = part of poker. If you can't handle it, don't play poker. Physically threating someone is way out of line, and should've received a penalty, if nothing else for the cursing. The way they selectively enforce the penalties is really sick (eg. not penalizing comedians/actors who curse). Jeff and Prah should've played some heads up cash to settle it
ESPN's coverage is so sickening awful. We don't see how Gold got his chips. We don't see Negreanu flame out. We don't see good poker plays (2p2ers holla). It's just one all-in and douche confrontation after another. |

And, if you can dish it out, you better be able to take it. I submit that physically kicking someone's ass when they slander you at the poker table is as much a part of the history of poker as is trash talking. NCAces |
