I dont know why i thought he was bad, i must be remembering the hurt/injured camby when he was a knick [/ QUOTE ] I remember you saying that and wondering if you had watched him play recently [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Seriously I think the only defender that comes close right now is Marion. There are guys who play well 1v1, and guys who play great team D, but those two guys are great at both. [ QUOTE ] Hi, put 100 on it? I'd take SA wins this series. [/ QUOTE ] I've got $$$$ on Denver to win the series at +765 and +3500 to win the Western Conference... I suspect that the will be around 300-400 right now, and I definitely plan on putting a little more on them. If you prove trustworthy and can match series prices, sure. |

HUUGEEE game 3 tonight in Orlando. Based on tonight's outcome, the series will either end up in a sweep, or will be Pistons in 5.
I'm nervous! |

Who bitches more, GS or San Antonio? [/ QUOTE ] its funny that we had 2 players thrown out for bitching at the ref's when a) they were completely justified. that was an abysmal officiating performance. and b) dallas was bitching more anyways. sooooooooooooo standard for the nba. |

PITTM,
Wow. Bias much. We want to break this down? There is a difference in class between the two teams, I know, Nellie coached the Mavs once and the Mavs were once known as a bunch of whiny bitches, complaining all the time...nothing was ever their fault. One of the biggest things I hated about Nellie was that he didn't have control of his team, take a look at the technical on court scuffle situation or the Baron Davis situation. 1: While the technical fouls where being figured out Avery had his team huddled up going over plays, NONE of his players were even worried about who was going to get which T...they were ONLY worried about the game, total class reflected upon the coach. What were the Warriors doing? Standing on the court yelling at the officials (who hadn't made a call yet) and gesturing "BS" and roaming around. Nellie is just standing there like he needs another scotch, he probably does. 2: The Baron Davis/Steven Jackson issue: Once again no control over his players. Complete pieces of [censored]. They bitched about everything. Are you kidding, justified? The first technical on Baron was a hard foul sending Stackhouse to the floor...if you think that was clean you seriously were watching a different game. Then he does the passive aggressive mocking the crew clapping and grinning [censored] that Duncan WAS JUST TOSSED for. I hate that crap more than anything, it is the most pussy thing you can do b/c if you don't get tossed you are showing the official up but then if you get tossed he can pull the, "what I was just clapping" routine...PUSSSSSSSSY. These guys bitched about every single call and these calls went both way. There were plenty of ticky tacky fouls both ways and there were plenty of times GS clearly fouled Dallas and it wasn't called, there were also plenty of times GS clearly fouled Dallas and it was called yet GS for some reason felt they had the right to still complain. My favorite of the night was when Diop cleanly blocks Steven Jackson, it was a hard block too--all ball. They call a foul, total crap. Diop as per usual just goes to the line and doesn't say a word and Steven Jackson starts mouthing and talking crap to him, Diop just looks at him, smiles and laughs in his face like, "wow you're an idiot you just got your [censored] rejected." Oh and gg. |

The first technical on Baron was a hard foul sending Stackhouse to the floor...if you think that was clean you seriously were watching a different game. [/ QUOTE ] no it wasn't. It was for the scrum that got started when Diop got in Barnes' face. Barnes sort of started it by swiping at the ball in Terry's hands. I thought the double T was justified just because the situation was getting messy. I thought T'ing up Jackson there was dumb, though. He was holding guys back. His hard foul was called correctly: a foul. This is the playoffs baby. He then got the second tech for getting gay about the call. I thought it was borderline, but given that Baron had no reason to complain (it was a clear foul), whatever. [ QUOTE ] There is a difference in class between the two teams [/ QUOTE ] CUP CHECK ![]() I still don't know who I'm rooting for. I guess DAL in 7 would be the best scenario. I'd love to see the upset, but it'd mess up the next two rounds. |

I think there is a reason players like playing for Nellie. He lets them do whatever they want. This game is the turning point of the series. Dallas handled it well, probably because their owner does all the bitching for them, while GS just imploded and behaved just as we had anticipated them acting. While Baron won't get suspended, he probably should. Totally classless.

kidcolin,
Nice picture, brings up a good point actually. I read a great interview w/ Jason Terry who has turned into one of my favorite players in the league from one of my least favorite--I hated his punch to the nuts thing last year and him when he was w/ Atlanta. FWIW, he is everyone's favorite player who works for Dallas, he is the best interview, the most polite and genuine w/ when he talks and for what I understand one of the best guys on the team. In the article I read he said that it was the most regrettable thing he ever did and if they would have lost that series he felt it would have been completely b/c of him (unfair to blame himself but oh well) and that it would have been tough to swallow. He said he learned more from that incident than anything else in his career in the NBA and now no incident, no matter how taunting was going to put himself in a position to jeopardize his team. Notice who was pushing all of the Mavericks back during the gay shoving match. I have turned into a big JET fan this season. You are right about the T's. I thought it was a correct double tech, Diop and Baron were pushing each other. I thought T'ing Steven Jackson was questionable but when you see a man that looks like he is normally strapped with Uzi's, covered w/ tatoos running into the scrum...that is what you see and he will get the blame a lot of the time. Goes w/ the territory ya know? Also, you could clearly see the difference in the two teams last night w/ how the two react to situations and deal w/ composure. Playoff tested teams don't act the way GS did b/c a few calls don't go their way. |
