joe: as soon as a-rod cools off all the yankee fans will bash him twice as hard as you do. just let it happen man.

NT, April is over. My comments are over. Thay3r is the retard trolling a Red Sox thread w/Yankee comments when having a Tampa Bay avatar and no style. Yankees are in last place. Yes it's April but here is a a factoid for all your stat-heads:

Of the 144 teams that made it to the postseason since 1982, only eight (or 5.6 percent) came out of April more than three games under .500. Clubs that need to worry most about that history lesson: the Yankees (9-14), Astros (10-14), Cardinals (10-14), Cubs (10-14) and Rangers (10-15).

That's a cute quote from Jayson Stark, but considering the Yankees were 11-19 last year and still made the playoffs, I'm not sure what your point is.

Comparing pitching situations from the Yankee team last year to now, I'm not sure what your point is either.

But, anyway, here are the rest of the April facts from Jason Stark.

Jason Kendall behind the plate can make Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek look like Jesse Owens and Michael Johnson.

Daisuke... threw 35 pitches, 20 strikes and 15 balls in the first inning.

He managed to walk 3 batters, hit another, have two runners reach on bad Julio Lugo errors... and the Mariners have 5 runs on 1 hit.

David Ortiz ties up the hit column in the bottom of the inning with an opposite field double.

5-0 Mariners.

Oh, and Mariners batters are 1-9 off Daisuke through 2. Yes, they're batting .111.

5-2 Mariners as Ramirez walks Pedroia in.
