The Celtics should go find Billy Cunningham and have him bring back the Charles Barkley Memorial Fitness Program for Big Baby.

At the end of every 76ers practice when Barkley was a rookie, Cunningham would say, "Okay, everybody hit the showers. Except you, Charles. You run windsprints up and down the court until you throw up. Then you can hit the showers."

I really don't understand how the media and a TON of fans are bashing this move so much. The C's are a few years away from being anything again. Getting the #1 or #2 pick would have expedited this rise I think but outside this they need Al to continue to improve and Gerald and Rondo to get experience as well as Perk. That is a very solid core there. They don't really need another young role player, which is what Green would be. What they gain with Allen is some excitement on the floor. This team could very well mimic the "Bombs Away" version of the Celtics from the O'Brien era and should be fun to watch with Rondo running the point. If you aren't going to be a top tier team you might as well be exciting and try to make money, this move should get fans excited after they see this team play. They won't play defense, but does anyone here ENJOY watching the Spurs? Hell no.

I see no point with this trade, I want to see number 17 not a 500 team.

The point of this trade was to appease Pierce. They couldn't make the blockbuster and they couldn't get any value for Pierce so they acceded to his demand to trade the pick for a veteran.

To ruin their rebuilding process for Pierce is a waste. I'd say [censored] him and sit him, what the hell could he do?

Cause every fan to stop watching the Celtics and go to games.

No one drafted at the 5 spot would've sped up the rebuilding process much anyway. If they had a top 4 pick this deal probably never happens, but the drop off after that was too severe. Roll the dice on Yi? I'd rather roll them on Allen. Having Allen instead of Wally doesn't slow down the rebuild much, either, and it makes the product on the floor a hell lot more intriguing.

Is it the best move in the history of basketball? Of course not. But everyone's being way too negative about it. Between all the false, lazy analysis I've read about Pierce and Allen playing the same position and having the same roll (false, and false) and all the fans acting like this is the apocalypse, I just can't handle it anymore.

the best part about this trade is that it means that rondo's lack of outside shooting isn't a problem. with pierce and allen on the floor, we get two good shooters and enough inside presence between the penetration and al j's ill nasty post moves.

I can't tell you how pissed I am about not getting one of the top two picks. Just sucks.
