My vote is for Bret Maverick, I think he won a big tourney on a boat once. I think it was the inaugural Party Poker Million cruise or something.

Several studies have shown that your poker skills peak at around 24, when Phil Helmuth won his 1st bracelet.
Madsen who is only 21, has already won 2, so if we assume that he gets better over the next 3 years, and then reverts back to his original skilll level at the age of 27, will then have many more bracelets than helmuth or doyle or that cunninham guy people are talking about (i'll look him up after i post this). Therefore, it is pretty clear to me that Madsen is the best all time tournament player, and this is proven by studies. |

VV, I think you should check your facts. Also, I do not really care about cashes and table appearances. I am talking about the legends of tournament poker in this thread, guys who are all about winning, not cashing. [/ QUOTE ] I don't see how your logic applies. You have two guys who are total newbies (Gale and Madsen) on the scene as possible 'legends', but you leave off some of the most proficient players of all time (Seidel and Cloutier)? That makes no sense. IMO you can't be a 'legend' unless you've been around for a while, and in poker I don't think you can qualify unless you've won the main event or at least finished runner-up. You certainly can't be considered a 'legend' after just one hot month at your first WSOP. |

Did you see him get owned by Johnny Chan in rounders? Cmon now. |

El D, This is simple math. He is 0/1 in the main event. At this rate, if he plays 20 more main events, his chances of winning will be 0*20 = 0. He has no shot at ever winning. Don't let your rampant fayboyism cloud the cold hard facts here. [/ QUOTE ] The winner of the best expression for this year..."rampant fayboyism". This post just keeps getting funnier and funnier. |

LOL, I do not post much but you have to be blind not to see the point of this thread. From the op on, this is just comic gold.
El D, What is the over/under for Madsen in a 1,3 and 5 year period. I might want some action on the over? |

Guys,
Some of you may have missed this Madsen interview. He pretty much answers all his critics w/ one simple statement: "For me to have four cashes in four different events shows that it was more than just luck for me." |
