Glad to do it. I've gotten a ton of PM's/AIM's etc, if 1/5th of the people who say they are going actually go, it will be worth it.

AHA! You've been hired by the Interior Ministry of Tourism to drive wealthy farangs to the country and you'll receive a percentage of the profits!

I should've known this was another pyramid scheme!

Techncially you need a license to drive but not really. I was stopped once and I showed the popo my Chicago Drivers license. He looked at it and pretended like he knew what is was and then gave it back to me and rolled out.

One time I just left the bar and I was hauling ass on my motorbike and I got pulled over by a cop at a checkpoint. Had to grease his palm with $5 but I was on my way again shortly there after.

So the obvious solutions seems to be this:

Degen buys or builds a giant dorm type setup, we throw in a $500 internet connection, naked thai girls, a pool table, naked thai girls, etc etc, and everyone pays rent from their poker winnings.

Speaking of Katoys, this morning when I was at Burger King this giant drunk ladyboy would not leave me the [censored] alone. He kept saying [censored] like "Whats your name? Dont you wanna talk to a Thai GIRL?"

Needless to say I got the hell out of there pretty fast

I went to a muay thai fight night when i was in phuket. I'm positive it was real (tons of locals and whatnot) but was absolutely stunned by the average age of the fighters. There were probably 3 fights all night of fighters that looked over 15

[/ QUOTE ]

this was the same with me, though they also had a few exhibitions with 8-10 yos (2 i think)...kinda scary but they were great fighters and they weren't allowed to throw elbows to the head, so meh.

alot of poorer northern families will send their kids off to muay thai camps. im not sure how it works, whether they sorta 'sell' them to the camps or if they pay for it (the former sounds more correct, but i can't remember for sure). but anyway, they start fighting when they're very young and get food/accomodation. by the time get are 20 they could very well have had 100s of fights.

My friend got 40 acers on a small island in the south for less then $20,000 and had the house built himself for like $50,000. If you contract all the work yourself you save a ton but it is a lot of work and most people dont want to deal with all of that.

[/ QUOTE ]

my parents are building a masssssssive house in hua hin (abt 2.5 hours south of bkk....i think, kinda sleepy atm)..like if it was built in aus it would be in the 10s of millions, but its costing them ~1 (estimate). of course, things take alot longer to do, so expect to wait a while if you want to start from scratch.

parents own alot of property in hua hin/cha am and these are developing areas where in the last year property value has gone up 3 fold (not really, but something big). but value drops almost as fast, and you usually sell to farangs who are looking for bargains if you're tryin to get rid of it, so it can be quite a risky proposition.
