Tonight is/was sick. The worst part is, Beckett can get out of there and pitch game 4 on short rest. Anyone know what he's done in the past on 3 days' rest? It would be tempting for Francona, if the Rockies are up 2-1 to do so.

However, sometimes, you can lose a game so badly that it becomes easier to let it go and just forget about it as an aberration. 18-2 not as heartbreaking as 3-2. But still, you don't want to run through your entire pen just to get 9 more outs. But if we were to lose a game this bad, may as well have been Game 1, which even most Rox fans were chalking up as a likely Boston win.

Wow. Just turned the game back on. Still the fifth inning.

Happy inspirational thought: The Yankees lost game 1 in 1996 to the Braves 12-1 (all 12 runs in the first six innings). It was real ugly. A week later, the Yankees had rebooted their dominance and dynasty after an 18 year hiatus.
