thayer, i know sevenhigh is an idiot, but plz stop trolling the red sox thread.
at the time the sox let damon walk and traded for crisp, crisp was 26, coming off a fantastic year, and had improved every year he had been in the majors. he was cheaper and projected to a very similar, if not higher level of production. the fact that he got hurt and has underperformed ever since was a huge surprise to just about everyone. JD Drew is much better than WMP because JD Drew knows how to play defense. if you let pena play full-time he MIGHT put up a comparable OPS to Drew, but he will definitely continue to look like a lost, frightened, lumbering oaf in right field at fenway park. plus it is not at all guaranteed that WMP will perform at the plate- he definitely hasn't looked good so far this year. i think he has a chance to be a good power bat for the sox but i'd MUCH rather have JD drew in RF. and it's not my money, so who cares? henry's got plenty.

Ugh, giving up 13 hits to this Oakland team is a travesty. Tough loss.
Beckett going tomorrow should help make this memory short lived.
