Enigmaedge -- Welcome to the forums. If you have $100 and prefer SNGs, I'm going to give have to give you some boring advice, but I think it's the best. Play a ton of SNGs. You should be able to play the $3s. When you feel like you're crushing those, take a shot at the $5s and $6s and so forth. Keep on keeping 30 (or whatever number you choose -- see the STTF FAQ) buyins in reserve and taking shots. Study the STTF forums; there are some SNG experts in there. (The names in green are all worth reading, as are, off the top of my head, Gramps and ryanghall.) Good luck. (And FT = "Final Table.")

THEOSU -- Man, if my MTT management skills were more expert I would have done that. Too much time in the LHE forums for me, I guess.

All -- So many of my hands were non-NLHE hands that I can't give complete graphs. But soon I'll be able to at least give graphs for my ring game NLHE and, assuming I can get various programs to do what I want them to do, most of my last run of SNGs (NLHE SNGs, at least).

Also -- WTF I CAME SO CLOSE TO MAKING A VERY DEEP RUN IN THE MILLION. Turns out that even when you amass 300K chips in one of these things, you still only have a handful of big blinds. Who knew. Of course, I'm very satisfied, seeing as I just put 1/8 of my online roll on a tournament and quintupled my buyin.

HAND HISTORIES UPLOADED

I'm pretty sure at least one person mentioned this. The file is here at http://www.savefile.com/files/435551.

Please let me know if this doesn't work or if there's anything else I can provide -- I just Googled file-uploading services and am no computer expert.

Is there a period at the end of the URL you're trying? There shouldn't be.

Tory -- If you look at any of this stuff and find glaring strategic mistakes, please take it to be at the end of a 10-hour 8-tabling session.

Thanks,

IJacket --

Also, I was misclicking roughly once every 25 minutes in those last couple days. Some of them were pretty severe (EV) mistakes.

Inspired by reading your progress, and also being cash-poor online- I too decided to undertake the challenge, I don't have a bet on this prop so there isn't any real money on the line, just looked interesting

I actually cheated right out the gate and started with a bankroll of $20.00, to dissuade me from the path of the less-righteous, the poker gods immediately dealt me the following hands in the following situations:

Hand #1 $3.40 10 player No Limit Sit N Go - 4 players remain, 3 spots paid. Blinds 200-400 ante 50, dealt JJ on button, folded to me I move all in T2200 - BB calls with AA GG

Hand #2 $1.75 18 player 2 table No Limit Sit N Go - 6 players remain 4 spots paid. Blinds 200-400 ante 50, I raise UTG+1 to T1600 with AA, SB flatcalls, Flop: 7 9 T , SB checks I push all in for T4500, SB calls all in Turn: Q, I'm drawing dead to opponents KJ River: Joker - I still lose

Hand #3 $7.70 Pot Limit Hold Em Multi Table Tournament (360 players max) 54 players remain - 36 places paid - blinds 200-400 - I raise 3.5x BB to T1400 with approx T7800 behind w/ AKo - only BB calls Flop. Ks 8c 5s, BB checks, I bet pot T3500, BB calls, Turn: Ac, Ks 8c 5s, BB checks I push all in T3500, BB calls - River: 4s, Ac Ks 8c 5s - Opponent shows Js Ts for the flush - top 2 pair no good.

At this point I was *officially* ready to start the challenge

1/23/2007 4:00am $ 5.30

I started with one table of $0.01c-0.02c Pot Limit Omaha, and immediately made nice progress putting $2.00 on the table and leaving 20 minutes later with $9.00 and change (In the cash games during this challenge I'll conciously make an effort to leave the table when I double or triple up to protect the bankroll)

Utilizing this strategy I then went to the same game but two tables simultaneously of $0.02c-0.05c blinds Pot Limit Omaha, after not really making any hands (and playing a fairly bland game) I am down to $6.00 and decide to shift gears and play only ONE table of the $0.02c-0.05c PLO. After another half hour I have a decent $12.90.

After a mandatory break involving water, ice, and glass, I'm back to work. I decide to try 1 tabling $3.40 10 man No Limit Hold Em sit n gos, to get my sit n go game back up to snuff.

After a nice run, I'm now 2-3 tabling (2 NLHE sngs, 1 table 9 max 0.02c-0.05c PLO and I've cashed in six sngs straight including 3 straight 1sts plus a heartbreaking beat where AA < JJ AIPF for 5K with 6 players left in a 18 man 6.50 Turbo NLHE - this, including 2 nice triple ups shortstacking $10 buy ins to the $0.10c-0.25c Pot Limit Omaha have the bankroll sitting at $75.52 at the time of Pokerstars 4am server restart.

After a break I'll post some more observations and more results, thanks to Mortal Limit for posting his story, I must say I feel like I've learned two things - not neccesarily *from* this thread - but in the act of playing 15 straight sit-n-gos I have figured out a few things about them (sngs) I never had in years of playing them (poorly)

not trying to hijack and didn't want to start another thread- just wanted to give you kudos - sir

current status *just lost 6tth and won another $3.40 10 man NLHE, plus a few small pots @ $0.05c-0.10c PLO

1/24/2007 4:00am $89.57, will probably start checking out the $6.50s tommorow, if you guys would like me to post the follow up results I will tomm.
