Everyone knows it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY YOU CAN BEAT AN OPEN FORUM CHALLENGE PROP BET INVOLVING LARGE SUMS OF MONEY. Yet people still SAY THEY WILL GAMBLE FOR ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THEN BACK OUT, INSULT THE OP AND INSULT ANYONE WHO PWNS THEM AND TRIES TO MAKE RIDICULOUS COMPARISONS WHEN THE INITIAL COMPARISON MAKES MORE SENSE.

I think the reason that I keep fighting this is because I find Nick's deal really really immoral, and no one else does.

It's actually making me feel bad about being a poker player, which is sad.

If Nick had told us all ahead of time, "you will lose, you don't even have a chance, seriously, i've tried this out and I know it" no one would play.

wtf? when your opponent pushes all-in on the river and you're contemplating a call, if he has the nuts do you expect him to tell you, "you will lose, you don't even have a chance, seriously"? and if he doesn't tell you that, is he scamming you? wtf dude

baron, how many times have you said you'd post the AIM convo? just post it. if what you say is true, then i find nick rather sleazy for trying to scam people as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

that's what gambling is. All one big scam. He gave out every bit of information possible, and stated he was willing to wager whatever playing either side of the bet. It was such an obvious hustle my retarded aunt wouldn't have taken it. Are casinos scummy for spreading blackjack?

aim conversations are private and not for public viewing IMO. I did say that I was a huge favorite, but part of the hustle is looking for easy marks.

Call me a hustler and I will take it as the greatest compliment.

Huh???? You make that call because you know some % of the time you will win when you call. You are gambling in the sense that he MAY have the nuts, but as long as you accurately predict that %, you are making a good play, even if he happens to have the nuts.

bz,

Yeah, it isn't a fair comparison if it's something where idiots have no chance against you. That's perfectly acceptable. But when you're the idiot, everything's different. And when you get embarrassed for being the idiot, not only do you back out of your word, you actually insult the person who outsmarted you.

Ken was certain he would win the bet. Lots of big talk then:

"I don't get how in any way you can beat me throwing the ball."

When Ken believed that, he said:

"I will use a racquet, you can catch. I'll play you for any amount of money"

And you were there to back him if he needed it.

So what you're saying is, it's SMART of you and Ken to take a bet when he believes he has no chance of losing. But it's STEALING for Nick to take a bet when he believes he has no chance of losing.

You are too much, man.

almostbusto,

I largely disagree, but I won't get into it. And it should be mentioned that 1C5 quickly agreed to the bet, and soon thereafter realized it was a hustle. Yet throughout, kept asserting that he WOULD still make the bet because he had agreed to do it. Even AFTER he schooled someone taking the catch side.

First of all, I never accepted a bet, I just offered to back Ken. And I never backed out, I just accepted the fact that Ken backed out.

The bottom line is I think what Nick is doing is immoral. If you don't think so, that's your prerogative.
