Its just very ironic imo- In the beginning of this thread, nearly everyone was assuming that Brandi was telling the total truth in her story about Tom. Now everyone is assuming that Mark's story is the total truth and that Brandi's is a lie. The entire time my outlook on both was that we don't know.

I have some hunches for sure. But really the only info we have about Mark and Brandi has been Mark's friends telling us that Mark is a good guy and that Brandi is crazy. Clearly since they're his friends they are going to take his side.

I don't doubt that their experiences with her are true, but I just don't see what the big deal is. For example, Shaniac even admitted that they were smoking weed when he met her, and she later posted that was her only time smoking in months. So a girl who usually doesn't smoke acted a little weird when she did....isn't that to be expected? Or some people have said that shes acted strange at the poker tables....is she the only one? We have the dude with the jingly shirt, we have Friedman's raps, we have Tony G berating people mercilessly, we have people trying to enter a chimp into the WSOP, and I could go on and on. There are tons of strange characters in the poker world. Being a little strange doesn't make you a liar.

Now I will admit that I'm more inclined to believe Mark simply because he seems like a more grounded person and because hes posted here for a long time and his character has never been questioned before.

Thanks, and yeah I'll be the first to admit that I have a tendency to argue just for the sake of arguing. I don't think I do it intentionally though; Just something about my personality wants to make sure we look at things from a different perspective.

no. the man has a mind for big picture stuff...it's similar to brilliant economists who can be fed (no pun intended) small amounts of data and be able to impute likely scenarios or give general overviews of flows and the like from that small amount of data.

diablo doesn't read everything, imo. his time is valuable. he just has a solid mind for summarizing threads from some sampling of posts he reads.

there is a reason i didn't make a judgement about whether or not banging or attempted banging may or may not have been going on. no information at my end.

it's annoying that week ago i was telling myself "hey, you owe mark a call and should try to get him to NY while lee is gunna be here." i somehow doubt that is going to happen now. i hope all is well with him and his future, which, despite a few intimations to the contrary, i believe will be very bright.

as to your previous point about the extremes of the conclusions posters draw: there are two reasons that make sense to me, 1) irrationality causes people in the short run to shoot for extremes, and 2) it is fun, which actually reinforces the swings from one to the other. in the long run, eventually, people like you step in and cool the fires of wild speculation and most people generally settle in the 35-65% truth/lie range as would be expected.

anyways, january is nearing. my first christmas dinner is coming and our sushi excursion is on the horizon. get your ass to NY, sonny...

7) if he has no posts, type in "cliff notes" and hit enter.

this should save you significant time...unless you have nothing better to do in which case many envy you.
