[ QUOTE ]
if you haul you are fine. Business trucks are good and all that. I am talking about the guy who goes out and buys a 35k truck and drives it 5 miles to work and back. [/ QUOTE ] How about big SUVs? Pretty much the same thing. My dad is 60 years old, tall and overweight with back problems. He can't fit comfortably inside cars and has trouble getting in and out of them. So he drives a full-size Dodge now and occasionally hauls stuff around in it. There are very few scratches on his truck. Is he a piece of trash? I would like a compact truck if I were buying a new vehicle. My head hits the ceiling in the car I'm currently driving. A truck has more headroom and more comfortable seating. Trucks are rear wheel drive, while nearly all cars are front-wheel drive these days. I hate front wheel drive. A truck's solid axle and rear-wheel drive means fewer parts to break or get messed up. There's more stuff I could mention that makes me prefer trucks to cars but I would end up sounding really nitty. |

Trucks pwn. Just because trashy people do xxx, doesn't mean a regular person doing xxx is trashy.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Grown men in pro sports jerseys. (cycling and soccer are exceptions) [/ QUOTE ] WTF is with the exceptions? If you are going to hate on people supporting their teams, at least be consistent. [/ QUOTE ] Well for one, cycling jerseys are functional if you're cycling. I don't mind grown men in pro hockey jerseys if they're playing hockey. And soccer jerseys are an exception because they piss off many American sports fans (I don't follow soccer, but I support pissing off American sports fans). [/ QUOTE ] Pls report to Douche thread and raise your hand high, thank you. [/ QUOTE ] Okay, Peyton. [/ QUOTE ] So, should I wear my Joe Montana jersey, my Prime Time Jersey ('94 throwback with the 75th anniversary patch), or one of my many other pro sports jerseys tonight when I go play poker? |

Example: Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Mega Cab 4x4 Headroom (inches): 40.80 Nissan Sentra Headroom (inches): 40.60 Get out of your Miata or S2000 and stop dreaming: there is no good reason to buy a truck unless you haul. Oh. And your overweight dad is trashy. |

Oh. And your overweight dad is trashy. [/ QUOTE ] Seats on trucks are oriented differently than cars too. Much more like sitting in a chair in your house, unlike a car where your legs go straight out to the pedals. My dad uses his truck to work frequently enough to justify owning one rather than an SUV. He just doesn't get a bunch of scratches on it, which is apparently required. Again, cars are also hard for him to get in and out of. Even if he weren't overweight, his back problems (only partially related to his weight) and long torso would make cars tough for him to use. I already said there are many reasons I would prefer a light truck to a car. I also said I'm not going to explain them all because I would come off as a nit. The ones I listed are sufficient anyway. Nobody has explained to me why driving a truck is trashy but driving a big SUV when you don't need off-road capability is okay. I assume it's okay since none of you anti-truck guys has a bad word to say about SUVs. FWIW I had a truck up until a year ago, and I did use it pretty frequently. But even if I didn't I would still prefer one to most cars. Oh. And DIAGF you snob prick. |
