Sens fan here. Congrats. I can't bring myself to hate the Sabres...just a good hockey team there. I

was also at game 4 in Buffalo. Flew out from Minneapolis. Had a great time and was treated well by about half the people who felt they had to give me a hard time. Decent folks did it with a smile on their faces. The other half were belligerent and stupid. Luckily, I'm 6'4" and 225, so didn't really feel threatened.

There are going to be big changes in Ottawa this summer. If you have any interest in what I think, you can check out this link.

Thanks, the few Sens fans I've met seem pretty solid and I like most of the guys on the team too except for Neil and Chara who I think are punks.
As for Emery, he didn't really do much to win them games but outside of Game 1 he didn't lose any either - before the series started I think most "experts" would've said that servicable performances in goal would've been enough to win, and it just wasn't; just not enough offense in 5-on-5 situations.
Am I the only one who thinks Redden was more at fault than Alfredson on the last goal?

[/ QUOTE ]

They were stiffs, equally, in my opinion; pylons...disgraceful. That was the Captain and an Alternate Captain right there. I think Redden was probably shocked that Pominville was able to walk around Alfie so easily, but that doesn't excuse it.

Redden and Alfredson both didn't really do anything. The two Buffalo trailers seemed to just go in for the change not figuring much would come from the shorthanded rush. Redden seemed to play like there was a potential centering pass when there was really none. Here's the video so decide for yourself.

Nice article, but I don't think the Sens have a chance to get Luango and Sakic. I would be surprised if they get at least one.

Like I wrote, it's a pipe dream. I'll be surprised if we get either. That would require Muckler to think like me. I don't think the Avs will re-sign Sakic and probably not Blake either. They need to get younger and cheaper.

Guess what folks, I'm a de-facto Sabres fan now. I've been hating on them all playoffs but they've made up for their roster deficiencies by being flat-out clutch. They also beat the Flyers so they can't be all bad.

I'll throw some thoughts on the upcoming series in this thread later in the week.

FWIW, the Senators do not have 'big changes' coming this offseason - one of Redden or Chara is gone, but they really don't have the cap room to screw around with the team. With Spezza, Meszaros, and Emery likely to get better, the Senators should once again dominate the regular season.

Oh, I beg to differ. I'll be shocked if Alfie isn't traded. Smolinski, Varada and Hasek are gone. They'll probably lose Chara, which is a damn shame. They're not going to go with Emery in the net, so they'll have to sign someone. I'm starting the "trade Alfie, and Emery for Luongo" rumour now.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I don't see a reason to not root for Carolina: nice weather, friendly southern hospitality, solid coach. Sure they'd rather watch cars go in circles for 8 hours than see a playoff hockey game but they do have the quality Hartford Whale tradition going for them. I'll buy you a Canes jersey.

Who is going to want Daniel Alfredsson? Who has the cap room for him, more importantly? Unless the Senators are trading him for relative peanuts, they're not going to find too much interest in a guy who can't seem to win when it counts.

Haha, you Sabres fans are paranoid - just to let you know, my team's won the Cup 3 times, so I can't be worse luck than any of you guys. I do think Buffalo will have trouble with the 'Canes but they will do a much better job of challenging Ward than the Devils did.
